Anyone take Advanced Pharmacology and/or Advanced Aseessment(i.e graduate level) as an undergrad online ? I am not settled on where I want to get my APN might be where I am getting my undergrad but not sure. Also I would like recommendations for a school that would let you take these in the summer of 2014 one at a time?
I am looking for classes that someone had no trouble trandsferring for graduate level credit once they settled on where they wanted to finally pursue an FNP progam online.

Only time I've seen Advanced Pharmacology/Assessment accepted for NP program is when student enrolled in dual BSN/MSN program takes graduate level course as part of undergrad BSN program.

My school only allows them to be taken the spring semester and summer before our clinical year. Anything that has been taken at another facility prior to that needs to be approved by the Dean of Nursing and the student still needs to come in and take the Advanced Pharm exams as well as the Assessment exams during the spring and summer preceding the clinical year in order to be validated.
As for taking Advanced Pharm online, my school doesn't accept that particular class being taken online from another facility, but I don't know about other schools.
Frankly, I'm grateful that I took Advanced Pharm during the spring semester. Our school offered it over the summer, but I personally never would have passed it trying to learn everything in a 6-week span and my 2 other summer courses had me busy enough as it was. :) Thank God I only have one more year!
Goodluck!

Can you tell me how the advanced patho course is structured at CSUDH? proctored exams? papers? How do you like the pharm class? I am also looking for individual courses prior to starting an MSN program. thanks.

I am also interested in the answer to this as well
No proctored Exam, case studies-about 3-4. 3 exams, quizzes. You will work for the grade, especially pharm.Lol

The University of Rochester School of Nursing offers advanced pathophysiology online (as well as in class). I took it online as a non matriculated student before applying for admission to the NP program there. We had to do 3 case studies, a weekly study guide (done as a group of 3-4 students), and weekly exams. There was also a private facebook group where we had to post and reply to others about clinical things which related to what we were learning. The course was awesome, and the professor was exceptional.

Johns Hopkins offers both pharm and patho at the graduate level on-line to matriculated students. I did fine in patho, don't think I learned that much in pharm however.
