Which has a highest pay and Free housing FASTAFF, OA or TRUSTAFF

Please enlighten me. I'm currently working with Readylink and my recruiter is very good but I want to try another agency to experience how it's like especially with highest pay and free housing. Shall I go with Fastaff, On Assignment or TRUSTAFF. Right now I'm taking home $5100 without free housing so I'm a little bit worried. Hoping to hear from all of you.

As for others-I don't work for Fastaff right now, but I did a contract or two a few years back. If you don't care for a company, fine. Don't use there product, don't employ there services, don't benefit from having additional staff on hand, and most importantly DON'T tell me how to do my job or run my life. Your rights end where mine begin, and I am the judge of that not you.

I personally won't go with a company that does strike nursing (Fastaff) but love On Assignment. Each of us have to choose where we go and who we go with based on our own needs and rules. I look at it like this I am working for me and I want a company who will give me what I want($$), support me in what I do, back me up when I need it. Thats about it. I want to do good nursing care in the right location for the right $$ and live in clean, safe, comfortable Corporate Housing. I choose On Assignment and Health FOrce as they give me all of what I need!

i've worked for both on assignment and fastaff- i don't recommend either to take an assignment from; i was burned pretty badly by both in particular oa. paywise i made more money with fastaff. goodluck!

i bet you don't shop at wal-mart either......look, you can't generalize us nurses that work for a company that provides strike nurses. i've said time & time again that i don't do strikes. i travel to provide for my family. it would be stupid & selfish of me to use a travel company that pays $8 less an hour for the exact assignment just b/c the other company provide strike nurses....

i watched on the news the other day about teachers' unions across the country...some of those people were the most radical, stupid people i'd ever seen. it seemed like they were brain washed or it was a cult! do you know how hard it is to fire a teacher that is a convicted and or admitted sex offender because of the union? it's rediculous. many teachers care but some don't care about students and are in it beacuse of the union. some of you need to get off your high horses and quit knocking us that do what we do. i said i don't do strikes.....working for the company means nothing.

actually you are correct. i'd also say that just by our nature of being travel nurses we are taking money out of other nurses pockets. so many times if the institution could or would find permenant staff they could pay their regular staff more. i, as a traveler, take money from the staff nurses at that unit. just the nature of the beast.

now when staff nurses tell me, usually jokingly, that i should work harder because i make more or they just plain don't like me i tell them do what i do, go where you know no one, don't know where the grocery store is, don't have family close by and you can make the money i make.

as for strikes. i don't ask any nurse to strike. that is their choice. they voted in the union, they pay their dues. be careful what you ask for you might get it.

sorry to offend but like the poster i am replying to this is a sore subject with me.

let's decide that as nurses, our first responsibility is to our patients. if all nurses are on strike who's taking care of the patients. would you want someone from administration taking care of your mother in icu. i woulnd't.

ok i'm getting down now. please try to see both sides of this issue.

btw to the op i'd never work for readylink .. i hope you fare well with the irs on the way they pay their per diem.. good luck.

dont believe everything that you have been told.....travel nurses make more money per hour than permanent staff....but the hospital can use the wages that they pay the agency against thier tax. so in reality, with the benifits and vacation and public holiday payments, it can work out cheaper for them to use travellers. so sometimes the hospital staff are costing more than the travel nurses.

each agency pays differently and each of us has to shop around.

not that they like to tell you the hourly rate until they know what they are paying for you.....eg, travel, car and apartment.

I agree with the fact that there are tax write offs. But we do take work away from another nurse who might be hanging around and would work for $35/hr. Like I do.

I don't work in hospitals and I don't believe dialysis units can write off as much as hospitals can.

I know they try to hire, for the most part, and train before I leave.

I just think that there are so many travel nurse companies out there, one does not have to work for a strike-busting company unless they simply do not care about the struggles of other nurses.

One has to keep in mind that, without the union gains, the likelihood is that nursing would not have made the positive strides it has made in the last decade.

If a nurse wants to ignore that, well, I do believe that says an awful lot about the particular nurse. If one wishes to disregard the sacrifices others have made so that THEY can enjoy increased pay and benefits....no comment.

Sounds to me like, your opinion is- I respect other's opinions as long as they agree with me. Not ALL strikes are about substandard pay/ benefits/ or working conditions, some strikes are simply about greed. If someone wants to strike we shouls respect that, and if someone wants to cross a picket line, then that should be respected too.

so what company do you recommend? i do not want to support any company that provides scab workers. it goes against my nature.

i'm working for trustaff right now. I took a larger hourly wage and have to pay for housing. but, i'm close enough to commute, just a long drive! first job was 5$ an hour more than the one i finally got. so there are differences from hospital to hospital .they pay weekly. my recruter is good . so far i am happy with them. Also this is my first travel assignment.
