Guys,
Please enlighten me. I'm currently working with Readylink and my recruiter is very good but I want to try another agency to experience how it's like especially with highest pay and free housing. Shall I go with Fastaff, On Assignment or TRUSTAFF. Right now I'm taking home $5100 without free housing so I'm a little bit worried. Hoping to hear from all of you.

Fastaff has the justified reputation as being the "cover agency" for the union-busting, scab-providing company U.S. Nursing.
The nurses working at union facilities recognize Fastaff for exactly what it is.
If you have no problem with this, fine. If you actually care what the nurses with whom you'll be working think about you, then choose another agency.

Fastaff typically does shared housing. I don't know anything about the others.
Not all of their contracts are strikes. You would simply have to investigate this.
There are many companies that pay well out there.

I've done three assignments with Fastaff, have made lots of money, and have NEVER had shared housing, nor have I EVER worked a strike. Lots of Fastaff travelers make well over 100K per year in regular travel assignments similar to everyone elses.

Fastaff quoted me $4 an hour less than OA for the same hospital.

Fastaff does provide free housing but it is NOT PRIVATE. Additionally, yes they do provide "scab" staffing for union busting activities. I could not possibly cross a picket line of nurses fighting for the rights of all nurses and patients.
The fact that this is a scab agency speaks for itself. They won't be worried about the welfare of their nurses either.

It is true that FASTAFF is a sister company to U.S. Nursing who does the strike nursing, however FASTAFF does not have strike assignments. I have worked for FASTAFF for five years and have been offered strike positions with U.S. Nursing, but never for FASTAFF. They do pay extremely well. I would definitely recommend this company.

I have worked for Fastaff as well. They do provided nurses for strikes! I would never work a strike but I see no problem working for Fastaff @ hosptials that are not in a strike. They do provided private housing usually at a hotel. The only time they do shared housing is for strikes. As for On Assignment, some of their positions pay great. Others pay average. Just depends on where you want to go.
I just think that there are so many travel nurse companies out there, one does not have to work for a strike-busting company unless they simply do not care about the struggles of other nurses.
One has to keep in mind that, without the union gains, the likelihood is that nursing would not have made the positive strides it has made in the last decade.
If a nurse wants to ignore that, well, I do believe that says an awful lot about the particular nurse. If one wishes to disregard the sacrifices others have made so that THEY can enjoy increased pay and benefits....no comment.
To each his own, ultimately.

You have to do whats best for you. Dont ask us, do your own research on them all. I do know faststaff pays very well and they do not always do strikes. there are regular understaffed hospital positions that they staff as well. i do know if you work for faststaff you are required to work either a 48 or 60 hr week. Personally, I dont have a problem working strikes or nonstriking hospital. Pts need to be cared for and I will do that while the nurses and union work out their issues. But once again, do whats best for you.

i bet you don't shop at wal-mart either......look, you can't generalize us nurses that work for a company that provides strike nurses. i've said time & time again that i don't do strikes. i travel to provide for my family. it would be stupid & selfish of me to use a travel company that pays $8 less an hour for the exact assignment just b/c the other company provide strike nurses....
i watched on the news the other day about teachers' unions across the country...some of those people were the most radical, stupid people i'd ever seen. it seemed like they were brain washed or it was a cult! do you know how hard it is to fire a teacher that is a convicted and or admitted sex offender because of the union? it's rediculous. many teachers care but some don't care about students and are in it beacuse of the union. some of you need to get off your high horses and quit knocking us that do what we do. i said i don't do strikes.....working for the company means nothing.
as you can tell i'm pretty pissed about this.
