  1. I've traveled with FASTAFF on and off for the past 5 years and have always had a good experience with them. If you get a good recruiter it will make all the difference in the world. They have great pay rates at FASTAFF along with the option to get a rental car. They also have an awesome bonus program if you are thinking about working as a traveler full time. Otherwise if you are just going to do an assignment here and there you can build your bonus into your hourly payrate and not have to work any minimum number of weeks in order to get it. The housing is usually extended stays, but generally they do have apartments for 13 week assignments or longer. It is the 8 week or less that you might have a hotel or extended stay. Good luck with your decision!
  2. Most, if not all, travel companies require two years of experience. The only exception is for a basic Med/Surg nurse. Generally this is because it is a big liability to the company. Many times it isn't just the travel company that requires it, but also the hospital. The hospital is paying a premium to the travel nurse company so they expect an experienced nurse for the money. I'm not saying you don't have excellent skills, but from the hospitals point of view they want the experience. I would suggest waiting another 6 - 12 months and then try getting a position. FASTAFF is a great company to start with, especially if you want to make a lot of money. Good luck!

I have worked for FASTAFF for over five years now and have always had good experiences with them. I too am an L&D nurse and I have seen many parts of the country traveling with FASTAFF. The money really is good, and I would recommend them over any other agency out there. They have 8 week assignments so you could try out a short one and see how you like it. If you decide they are the right fit for you extend or get a new assignment. They have a longevity bonus of up to $9400 if you work for them for a year. Let us know what you decide.
  4. It is true that FASTAFF is a sister company to U.S. Nursing who does the strike nursing, however FASTAFF does not have strike assignments. I have worked for FASTAFF for five years and have been offered strike positions with U.S. Nursing, but never for FASTAFF. They do pay extremely well. I would definitely recommend this company.
