Which Dansko shoe is better?

Nurses Uniform/Gear

With so many different types of Dansko shoes out, can I get opinions on which ones you like. I work in a office in peds and physical season is starting soon, and I cannot take another summer changing shoes twice a day.

Also, should I get patent leather shoe or something different. Lots of fluids from my wee little ones.

Any advise is appreciated.

The Professional style is the one that is most popular with nurses and other medical personnel...in fact, that is the only style I see. When purchasing a pair of Danskos, make sure you purchase them in person and try them on. And try on different pairs in the same size. Danskos are hand made so a 37 in one pair may actually feel better than different pair in size 37, or vice versa. Your heel should also slide up and down in the back. Retailers should be knowledgeable about how they are supposed to fit.

Danskos also take awhile to break in. I would wear them around the house to get used to them.

If you're concerned with fluids, I'd suggest looking into the XP line because they have the slip resistant soles. They are a teeny bit more expensive than the plain Professional ones, but worth it. I've worn the XPs as a waitress/bartender and LOVED them.

Also, Sanita is very similar to Dansko in price and style and I think their default sole is slip resistant but not sure off the top of my head.

I love my Dansko Professionals and I don't wear anything else. IMO the patent leather is very easy to wipe fluids off of, which is very useful!

I thought all Danskos from The Professional Line (including the XP) were slip resistant?

The XPs are slightly more expensive but they have a slightly softer, squishier insole compared to the regular Professional which has a hard insole. Both are comfortable and I actually switch between both.

I tried the Sanita clogs and I didn't like them. They are supposedly the "original Dansko" but they fit differently and they weren't as comfortable in my opinion.

I agree!

Nope, just the XPs are slip resistant. They have a rubbery sole like a sneaker with a different pattern.

I wear Sanita professionals for my hard-core clinical days and Dansko's MaryJane style of heel for my less active days. This has worked well for me; I can step in to the clinical role if need be with my Dansko MaryJane's, but they look rather professional with slacks. I also enjoy Alegria shoes and wear them interchangeably with both scrubs and professional clothes (I have them in black patent). It depends on your dress-code, but I think the key is to stick to neutral shoe colors (brown, black, gray, etc.) - this allows you to get by with a less "professional" shoe.

Had a pair of dansko shoes. Hated them. So sprung for a pair of alegria professional series. Best decision I ever made. They are amazing. Feel like I am walking on a cloud. I have never had tired or sore feet at the end of a twelve hour shift. Honestly couldn't recommend them more!
