I am usually up for a challenge, but this fall I am going to be taking a lot of classes, b/c my humanities didn't transfer.
I need to maintain a high gpa to get into the nursing program so I don't want to put myself at risk.
These are some humanities classes that I can take and I am wondering which one will be easier. I can't take literature b/c my english also didn't transfer and I only have one semester to take all of these courses.
PH101-Intro to philosophy
PH205-Ethics
PH207-Biomedical Ethics (I think this one would be the best for a nursing student, but I am not sure if it will be easy.)
PH204-World Religions
LS101-Intro to Spanish
I took Spanish in highschool and I did ok.

all of them would really depend on the teacher..as for Spanish that also depends on your ability to grasp new launguages as well.
I think biomedical ethics would be the most interesting...as for easy, probally not. there are a lot of gray areas in medical ethics

Yeah. Biomedical Ethics is the class I want to take, but the same semester I also will be taking English, A&P2, Micro, and Human Growth. :uhoh21: I might take one in the summer to ease the load. But I am taking A&P1 in the summer also. So whatever 3 credit course I choose to take in the summer will overlap with A&P for 3 weeks. I most likely will take Human Growth in the summer.

Any class can be hard or easy depending on the teacher. Ask around to see who's easy if it's that important. My 2 cents!

My votes would be for world religions and spanish. Ethics would be interesting and so would philosophy, but lots of "head" work involved.
Of course, it all depends on what areas you excel in. Maybe you are super philosophical and can glide through those kinds of classes? I found philosophy to be paper-heavy and too emotionally taxing-LOL! I think its cuz I am a Christian and I felt like I had to really weigh everything that was presented with what I believe or something? Anyway, I am babbling...GL!

Philosophy and ethics will require more research and thought. Spanish may be the easiest since you've already taken it. I'd go with the religion class. I agree that you should ask around about the instructors. Or go to ratemyprofessor.com.

I would personally go for the spanish, but then that's just cause its becoming a second language for me. SO, if you still remember the basics from high school go for spanish(its all basic stuff like verbs and days of the week). If not, you could take religion (sounds easy, although I never took it). As for philosophy, a couple of my friends took it and they hated it. one of them actually had to repeat the class cause he failed it.

i like to look to see who is teaching the class then check on http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/index.jsp to see how other students rated them.

Seriously, I've taken both Intro to Philosophy and Ethics and they can be pretty intense classes. All of my smart friends took Music Appreciation to fulfill their humanities credits. LOL!! With Micro and A&P2, your boat is already pretty loaded. I would steer away from any type of philosophy course. JMHO. Good luck!!

Im in Intro to Ethics now and its a beeeooootch!..A lot more than you would think an Ethics class would be about. Its not hard but there is a lot of reading to understand and we're talking stuff by Immanuel Kant, Gandhi, and Plato-it might as well be another language cuz u sorta have to translate it to make sense of it. It is very very similar to math-you'll understand if you take the class. Im not sure how the Intro to Philosophy would be but if I were in your situation and I had a Spanish experience I would take the Spanish class. Stuff is always easier the second time around. I would just be careful with the humanities req's for your school cuz Ive noticed at several schools that if you choose a language as your humanities requirement then you have to have at least 6 credit hours or some sort of minimum to meet for languages only.

I really WISH I could just take an arts class, but the nursing program requires that I take an arts class and a humanities. At this school art classes don't count as humanities (and neither do histories which is why I have to redo it) I already took art appreciation so that is the art class, and all the humanities are languages, literatures, and philosophy classes. Since my english also didn't transfer I can't take any literatures b/c they all require EN101! So I am stuck in a Philosophy or language course.
That's a good point. I'll have to check into that.
