General Pharm is the hardest class at our school from what I hear. Haven't taken it yet, myself. But from what everyone tells me...it's only because the instructor is awful.

i have read this thread several times trying to figure out how to reply and decide which class was "harder' than the other.

we all have our weaknesses and strengths and it too depends on how one defines "hard".

i tend to agree with micro/med/surg being the most challenging classes and this is not to say the other ones were easy.

The hardest one I have taken yet was Pathophysiology. I was able to pull a B with a 93 average- you needed a 95 to get an A (one of only 9 students who did) NO ONE got an A! About 10 ppl got a C. Over 70% of everyone who took the class that semester failed (there were 3 sections)

I won't be starting the ADN program until this fall. Thus far the hardest pre-req has been chemistry. I won't be taking Micro until next summer. However I work in a lab where I deal with Micro stuff everyday, so I hope that will help me. Good luck to you.

Out here the two schools I have gone to the Micro class is the wash out class. The las school I went to also had a dosage calc class that really stumped alot of people. Lost about 50% of the nursing students that way. Had to pass with 100% to continue on in the program.

I agree with those that stated med/surg is the most difficult. It is a cumulative class pulling in all that you have learned in the basics. You are expected to know the why's of the particular disease process that your patient has, or why the doc precribed a particular med (along with all side effects and contraindications). So yes, I would say that med/surg is the most difficult class.

So far for me the hardest class has been Chemistry. Its hard, but certainly not impossible, I am making a B in it.

There are parts of it that I "get" and test well on and other parts that I just do not "get" and miss that part of the test.
