Where do you work?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I was curious to know where everyone works while taking pre-reqs. I am just going to school now but I am looking for a job and just did not know what type of work would be best as far flexibility and all that. Will be nice to hear from you!

Jessica

last semester I worked in a daycare in the morning three days a week before class, worked out great, had work early, had class, had evening and weekend off

this semester i am a lab assistant for the biology department four days a week till only about 5/5:30 after class, which works great as well because I have class, eat lunch, go to work for a few hours and then get the evening and weekends off

I would suggest an on-campus job because campus offices are only open till about 5 or 6 which gives your evening off

Specializes in Hey I'm now an RN!!.

part time (dropped down when school started) as a monitor tech in a step down unit.

I work as a Childcare Couneslor in in a group home for boys with emotional disorders like ADHD or Conduct Disorder...I love it...I only make 8.90 per hour...but my schedule is perfect for nursing school...Thursday, Friday & Saturday overnight 10:30pm-11:00am. I also get to sleep most nights because I only have one co-worker in the cabin with me and he's usually up all night studying or something.

I work as a CNA in an extended care center. I work weekend day, evening "bailers".From 6:30am to 10:30 pm Sat. and Sun.It is very hard to do, but they pay me for five shifts.I have all week off, can hardly wait untill summer.

I work at walmart.I've been there awhile and they are flexible with my schedule.I make almost $11 an hr.I'm not sure what they pay starting cashiers.I've heard a rumor that they only pay them $7 or $7.50 an hr.I can also only work 28 hrs a week and have health insurance.I've heard its 32 hrs for new hires.

Even while in nursing school, there were 4 of us that worked in a movied store. All you do is pop in the preview tapes, and except for Friday and Saturday noone really rents movies during the week, so you can have plenty of time to study! :)

I work from home. I sell on Ebay. I do very well but it's tiresome and boring. I also get really fed up w/ customers ha ha. It allows me to be home when the kids get home from school though so it's a HUGE plus.

What kind of things do you sell on e-bay? I'm a SAHM who will be starting my prereqs this summer, but in the meantime, am trying to generate any extra income possible. I have stacks and stacks of books, so I thought about selling those. Any suggestions or tips?:)

Mainly I sell plus sized women's gothic-style clothing. It took me awhile to get my nitch..I tried everything at first. I don't have much experience w/ books but I do know that most of the people on my image hosting board ( http://www.sparedollar.com/Community)...say that Amazon is a better place to list books than Ebay. If you need any help with listing, etc just give me a holler!

I work in a Hospital blood bank as a donor Phlebotomist while i wait for word about school acceptance.....

Specializes in OB, M/S, HH, Medical Imaging RN.

I did private duty while in nursing school and did all of my studying at work.
