Hi,
I am currently trying to decide if I want to go to nursing school at the TWU Dallas campus or somewhere else. Where do most TWU nurses in Dallas live? Do they commute or live in a certain area in Dallas? Parkland isn't in the best area, and I just do not know if I would want to commute from Denton everyday. Thanks for all of your input.
lewisville is ur best bet. u don't want to live so far away that if u leave something at home, it's impossible to go home and get it. Also, think about test days and how u don't want to waste time driving. you can take bus 185 from the lewisville DART station all the way to the area in 30 mins and study on the way if you don't like to drive in traffic. There is also a lot to do in lewisville and the rent is decent. I would never in a million years drive from denton to dallas everyday.
Hey so you all seem DFW area savvy :)Lemme ask, if you were a young single nurse accepting a job at Parkland...
where would you wanna live in the area?
I've lived in FW for a couple years but think I might wanna move a bit closer, yet I don't know the area... assume money isn't a huge issue.
Safe
Reasonable commute to Parkland
I may be getting my BSN at TWU so maybe near there too?
Did I mention safe?
Area of young professionals, not so much college kids :)
Just thought it was worth a shot---- Thanks!

In about 2 or 3 years I would like to be at TWU in Dallas aswell. I was wondering the same thing- where would I live? Would I commute? I currently live in Denton/Lake Dallas, so driving to Dallas every day might be a pain, but paying for rent in a Dallas apartment might also be a pain. (Does anyone know what rent is like there? I assume it's high.)sjt9721, Lake Dallas is north of the Lake Lewisville bridge, and I agree. Traffic can be bad there, with or without a wreck.
I live in Little Elm (very close to Denton) and I went to TWU in Dallas! Many, many of my classmates (including myself) ended up carpooling since so many of us were commuters. My carpool buddies and I quized each other, supported ecah other, cried on each other's shoulders, etc. The drive was not bad at all (we took the tollway).
Addison is the perfect town for singles. It has plenty of clubs, bars, and trendy dining. There will never be a shortage of things to do.Lemme ask, if you were a young single nurse accepting a job at Parkland...where would you wanna live in the area?
I'm a 28-year-old single female who is stuck in the suburbs of Fort Worth. If I had my choice, I would move into a loft next to the skyscrapers of downtown Dallas and enjoy the urban living, restaurants, and amenities nearby.

If money's not an issue, then go for it. For me, it is. That's the only thing keeping me from moving out there. Rent's like three times what it is out here.
