Can someone please tell me the best place to take an infant's pulse. Is it the brachial or apical? Also, at what age can you take a child's radial pulse?

I just had my first aid/CPR and was told to take it using the brachial pulse.

i agree about the brachial, i heard that from my cpr class as well. i think its age 2 and up you can start taking the radial pulse.

The apex beat - the point of maximum impulse.

I was taught the apical. That's how we assessed the pulse in my maternity and pediatric classes. I suppose if you don't have a stethoscope and it's an emergency situation outside of a hospital you would use the brachial.
