Is there anyone here who can provide recommendations on where to start to look for a place to live- actually I'd appreciate hearing what neighborhoods to avoid. What's good around Norton Suburban or Baptist East? Thank you.

You might want to look around the Saint Matthews area (East End)- it's fairly close to DuPont, and has affordable middle class housing.

I won't comment on what areas to avoid, as I don't want to offend anyone. I live in a nice area close to downtown (Crescent Hill). It's a good mix of urban/suburban, and people. You might want to look in the East End area, since that's where you'll be working.

What kind of neighborhood are you looking for?

East End. Definitely. The Highlands. Or "Old Louisville".

Not the West End.:uhoh21:

Check out areas around Hurstborne, Stony Brook, and Saint Matthews...these areas are close to the malls and many restaurants. Zorn Ave/Mellwood Ave is a good area too...close my the river, parks, the malls, and the downtown area.

Avoid the West End, Shively, Dixie Hwy, Newburg areas.
