Where to get cheap books at?

Published

The books at the college bookstore are sooo expensive. Where are you guys getting your books at? I went to cheapbooks.com and found some pretty reasonable ones but I am worried about how long it will take to ship them. I need them before the first class day on Aug 27th. Do you guys know where I could get them cheap at that the shipping is quick?

Also, do you guys think that a math course, psychology and Human Growth would be to many classes to take? What is the work load like for these classes? I also have a 2 and 5 yr old so I hope 3 classes are not to many.

i bought my books on amazon.com & saved A LOT of money, but make sure that you're getting the edition that you need & not an old one. they usually ship pretty quickly, but you'd have to order right away to be confident that they'd probably arrive before your first day of classes.

good luck to you! :)

Barnes and Noble also sells used books on their website. I saved a ton of money buying from there and amazon.com. There are a few more websites out there like eCampus.com and I think it is 1/2price.com (not too sure about that one).

As for your classes if taking three classes is what you need to do then I am confident that you can do it. It may mean sacrificing some things but if you want to do it you can. If it isn't neccessary then you may want to think about lightening your load.

I found some of mine on ebay!

Try half.com; it's part of eBay. They have a ton of used books on there at really good prices. Some people even offer expedited shipping (3 day). I usually get my books within a week (with regular shipping).

I go to bigwords.com or icampus.com. Both websites will do comparisons of all other websites, such as amazon, half.com, barnes&noble, and many others and show you the prices on those websites. That way you can see which website has the best deal. It even shows you the shipping rates for each. You should definately try these websites.

I got a tremendous deal from this site:

I always use this website because it searches many different sites for the best price.

I have a 2 year old and I took 2 classes at a time, but I also work Full-time. If you don't work, you should be ok in my opinion.

Best of luck!

One place you might want to try is your school's nursing department office. Students sometimes leave, or donate their old books as they leave the program. It's also a good place to get used NCLEX review books also.

You might want to look in the phone book under bookstores and see if there are any other places in your area that sell school books. There is a place where I live and they're usually $5-$10 cheaper on the new books and they also let you know if you really need the book or not.
