When will I receive my Nclex Eligibility in California

Published

I'd like to know when will I receive my Nclex eligibility. I'm from California and I just went back to the Philippines to finish Nursing. I graduated last March 2010. I moved back here on June 2010 and applied that month as well, After 2 weeks, I got a mail from BON requesting for additional requirements from my school which includes: Class Schedule, Schedule of Clinical Rotation, Photocopy of enrollment forms, transcript of classes prior to enrolling at the nursing program and a photocopy of my passport. My school sent the documents last week of July via FedEx. I checked the tracking number at FedEx and it said that the recipient (BON) already received the documents last August 3, 2010. As of now, I still did not get any letter from BON. How long do I usually have to wait?:confused::confused:

@Akino21, yes i took the PNLE, i sent them the copy of my license. But from what i have been reading from all the comments, license in the Philippines have nothing to do with the current problems. The problems are the clinical rotations and hours???? so i am guessing it is something new.

Good luck!!

Hi fellows,

i am one of the many nursing graduate who have the same delema. i also have deficiency in psychiatric nursing, but i dont understand because 5 of my classmates and they are my close friends as well, received eligibility. i called my school they said we have perfectly the same hours and concurrency in that area. how come i didnt received my eligibility?. i even helped one of my friend in her application here.

is it ok that i should talk to them (board) and fight for it? because i thinks its unfair. dont you think?

please i need your input.

thanks a lot.

CA can and do , like other states, change their requirements. You can certainly ask them to reconsider their decision based on the fact they have approved others from your school but be prepared they may still say no

Hi silverdragon102,

thanks for your reply. my analyst told me that they raised the hours just the first of the last year. and then, i ask them what exactly is the minimum and didnt get any response from her.(that was last year of october) so i tried to leave a comment or complain in the DCA(november).is it true that u have raised the no. of hours? and i told them about my classmates receiving eligibility and we have the same hours and i did not. i ask them also why is that?. then one of the BRN internation analyst respond to my queries and told me that the CA BOARD DID NOT change any requirements at all.

so i dont know which and what? im really confused.

thanks!

You are sort of lucky than me 'cause they're trynna tell me to repeat both MS and OB Nursing which turned out to be a problem :( Im gonna repeat both Theory and Clinicals. Meaning, all of my hardships during RLE in the Philippines was a whole load of crap. :( How I wish, they just told me to repeat only Psychiatric Nursing :( It's pretty depressing though.

kabayan I just submitted my reapplication form...still waiting for their response..praying and hoping no problem will arise..I just did the advance reading of CaBON regulations, coz I read a lot of posts here bout it and Im so nervous already..:(

same thing happened to me just few months ago. they requested me to send all of those. After I got all of those additional requirements, I've sent it to them immediately then only to find out that my nursing education didn't meet the minimum requirements here in California. For me to be eligible I need to retake MS and OB Nursing both theory and clinicals. There has been a lot of changes these past few months. They're now even more strict when it comes to applicant's eligibility. I tried calling them as well. Now I'm finding a school where I can enroll to finish those two subjects AGAIN. So frustrating. :(

@ zhapper2002...just wanna ask from what school are you?how many hours are they requring from you?

I graduated from San Beda College - Manila. There's no problem with the hours in my theory and clinicals. What they're trynna point out is that the theory should be concurrent to the clinicals. They've been asking me why I got my DR cases during 4th level which I should accomplish during my OB class in 3rd year. Concurrency issues was the culprit why I wasn't given eligibility. That's the problem in my case. :(

im sorry about that kabayan...just dont give up,try to convince them and ask a letter from your school have them explain to CABON why its not concurrent..

its pretty depressing how our application went. i mean, i would totally accept it that i have deficiency if they raised the minimum hours but they did not.,and one thing also is that i have classmates and friends here who went to same school and have exactly the same hours.

zhapper2002-im really sorry about ur situation. just dont give up yet, try to contact your school and let them know your delema. they might help you.

proudpinay- what do you mean the reapplication form? is that your appeal to re-evaluate or you really applied for a new one again? thank you!.
