What's Your Best Nursing Ghost Story?

Nurses General Nursing Nursing Q/A

Nursing is a profession that often involves long lonely night shifts in eerie hospital wards. It's a perfect breeding ground for ghost stories. These stories often involve sightings of apparitions, strange noises, and unexplained events that are said to have taken place in hospitals, hospices, and other healthcare settings. Some of these stories are believed to be based on true events, while others are purely fictional. Regardless, they continue to captivate and intrigue both nurses and non-nurses alike - providing a spooky glimpse into the world of healthcare after dark.

Wild thread. My dad has a story when he was hospitalized for a length of time at a quasi-famous teaching hospital.

During the nights he felt hands tucking blankets around his legs and such.

Then, during the day, my mother saw a oddly dressed nurse zoom around a corner. I don't remember if she called a question to the woman, but she said it seemed odd the way the woman moved and looked. (I'd have to ask her the details again.)

However, when my mom and dad mentioned the stories to the nursing staff, they said that they had a ghost that was a nurse that had never married. This nurse had spent her career working at the hospital. They agreed that they've heard those stories from other patients.

I used to work in and old labor and delivery unit. It was a small hospital, so often times I was back there by myself. I liked to keep the lights low and things quite back there, so naturally I heard a lot of creeps and groans. There was a whole back hall unused, there was also no access to it accept by passing me. I could hears metal objects clanging, and doors shutting. Sounded like somebody was getting ready for a c section.I could always sense something there with me it seemed. There was also a back room on the med surg floor that was never used. It was a patient room converted to a storage room. That room was strange... Call light always going off, and nobody near it...Whole hospital had a creepy aura...Maybe it was the cemetary next door..If that in itself is not strange.... :p

My mom and dad have a story when he stayed at a quasi-famous teaching hospital near us.

Dad felt a nurse often tucking blankets around his legs at night and such, but no one would be in the room.

Mom saw a strangely dressed nurse zoom around a corner during the day.

When they told the nursing staff, one agreed that there was a nurse that had never married. She had spent her whole career working at the hospital. Other patients had mentioned similar stories of feeling someone "tucking them in".

my sister said one day when we were like 18 and 19 that she seen like an old fashioned girl, like a prairie girl, sit up out of my body, she seen it while i was sleeping. she would deny it now if asked, anything scary like that from our past she denies. we had just moved in to this house and it was by a whole lot of wooded area, where one could imagine being a settling area. she also seen flying windchimes and some other stuff that night, so i don't know what she was on. my brother and her at another point in that house both saw a flying saucer over the pond in the back yard. she denies this happened too, but my brother insists it was there. there was alot of weird stuff that happened there, it was supposedly haunted by the previous owner and a few others. the house was creepy to drive up to at night, you got a feeling of dread driving up there.:uhoh21:
according to the info I received, those buildings were new housing units that burned. The old place is still standing.:uhoh3:

They were the old buildings being renovated into condo units that burned. They were doing a really great job from what I hear.

Yup, its totally normal, consider yourself lucky that you are among the few to be that open to allow these visions to come. they can provide very useful insight into where you are in your life now. Ive had stuff through dreams and strong feelings of deja-vu in certain new places that Ive always been drawn too . Realized the pull was because of previous lives. Of course many may not believe this, and thats fine. Everyone has their own belief. This is mine. There is actually a working psychiatrist that has wrote a book on past lives that he happened upon accidently with his client. He now does past life regression full time and helps many people. He never believed it before he had the experience. forgot his name though , hes in Florida now, when I remember it I will post it.

I want to hear about the family pets. I lost a dog recently and still grieving. Let's hear about yours.

me too-the pets thing. Please. I also will tell about my dad's passing soon. It was last month. It, too, was just not him when I walked in that night:o. His last day...just not him...I will go into it much more. But his last words 24 hours before he died, "Goodbye." "What was that? What did you say?" "bye."

For those who don't believe in ghosts and the spirits of the dead being able to communicate with and appear to those on Earth you are wrong

He has taken me back in time in what appears to be a High Quality Technicolor Movie and given me all the details before and after the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy who as we know was Assassinated on November 22, 1963.

I have posted some of these stories on http://www.psychic-experiences.com

Sorry no offence....are you a nurse?? Or are you one of those psychic ppl trying to promote here??

I am not a nurse, nor am I here to promote myself for financial gain, I am just here to share some of my experiences as a Channel for Spirit hoping it will be helpful to those who are interested.

I found a link to the website on http://www.ghost-mysteries.com and the one who posted it and others who wrote there said what an interesting site it is, and I feel others like me will visit.

After reading some of the posts made by others I thought it would be good to share some of my Experiences because I can see some of you do believe, and I wanted to tell you some of the things I have learned.

Thank you for clearifying it....some of the statements that you made are just too hard to beleive.....it must be quite an unusual feeling to have when you are able to experience all the things that you said....its amazing:)

also:

24 hours later at my moms with all my brothers there I was in the bathroom (bros in the house, not in the BR) Anyway I hear this "Hullo!"...I thought wow I know my bro must be in the basement cuz it came from that area (my dad's study)...and boy it was clear as day...I HEARD it, and I thought wow which one of my brothers sounds so much like my dad? I go out to head downstairs to see, to tell them they sound just like him...thinking it might comfort him....Then I hear the TV and instead of going into the basement go into the living room...All my bros were sitting there. "Who just came up from the basement?" They looked at me like I was crazy. "We have been here for a long time going through pix of dad, so no one." "Well who just said Hello?" I had thought one of them went into the basement to talk to their wives on their cell phones (they were verrry preggers and unable to be their yet-one actually gave birth 12 hours before the funeral-wow)...anyway... I guess that was out -the cell phone thing....So I thought well why would they have a reason to even say 'hello' sitting here talking. It wasn't a sarcastic Hellllloooo! and they wouldnt say that--and they said they hadn't been talking for a while just looking at pix. ANYWAY...it had to have been my dad///His last words had been goodbye and he knew I felt guilty for leaving those hours before he died, I think he was trying to say...."I was wrong...it wasn't goodbye...I am still around and up here I am very much 'alive'." I know it is kooky but it was JUST like his intonation and it obviously wasn't my brothers--he had a very different way of saying hello...more like Huhlow. He had told me a long time ago, after his grma died. He woke up in the middle of the night and she was there talking to him. He dismissed it as a dream....but now I am not so sure....And I think now he must know it wasn't a dream...very comforting...huh?;)

I personally don't believe anyone can enter someone else's body as a "possessing spirit" to do unfinished business, or for any other reason.
