  1. Latest story of the ghostly hauntings of the adult foster care where I work. So now there are at least three ghosts at the home. One I have seen, a little dog that was a housemates that got ran over. One others have seen, a former roommate of a client I will call mary. And one Mary see's, mama. Mary is bedridden and wheelchair bound, total care. Often she is my client at work. She does not speak. She understands us, and often laughs at us, as we tease her playfully. I have only heard her say two words, mama being one of them. She will say mama and look at the ceiling corner while we dress her in the morning and we will ask if mama is visiting. For those who havent read earlier posts I will recall some of the stories. One time we had a clothes basket come flying off a flat surface it should not have come flying off. The roommate has been seen at the end of the hall going into Mary's room. Window blinder went flying up while I and the boss and one of our staff who is afraid of this stuff. We all said its the spirit, and she was a bit upset. Once while I was doing paper work, a bunch of I can only describe it as a mass of fur went wipping by my legs, towards the back door, where we used to put the dog out. No one else saw it, and they they insisted I was seeing things. (well yea, I was!) Later when I began to work thirds, the dog has showed up two more times. Once I was knitting at the kitchen table, concentrating really hard as I was trying to correct mistakes, when I felt something by my right side, just out of my vision. I looked to the right and in my minds eye I saw the dog. I jumped a foot in the air, I swear. I used to hold the dog at the table while I read. One time recently caught me falling asleep. I was sitting in Mary's chair in the living room. I felt hands touching me I awoke and drifted off again, and got touched some more. In my minds eye I saw the dog again, and mary was calling for me. I believe is was the combination of spirits that woke me to take care of Mary.
  2. In our group homes the program coordiner orders the meds, checks the MAR, handles appoinments as an LPN might do, but she is not a nurse. At the other three homes, the residential program aide does these duties and are under a Program coordnator that cover all three small homes. The Rn comes in and checks the client at times of illness or injury. Takes vials. Attend meetings with the clients about his or her health, mental and otherwise. She calls the doctor with concerns. The are usually hampered with pressure to keep face to face time at a minimum. Which is not effective when there is alot going on. Th RN talks directiclly to managment and program coordinator and any medical srevices that need to be done. You have a high case load at one time, so it gets tough. That is the way it is with the nurses coming out of CMH. She is also an educator to us residential program aides. The RPA"s are the ones who do med passing, the most often. And take care of wounds and medical concerns when the boss and PC are at home. You will have large and complicated case loads. It is satisfying work, when what you do brings health and happiness to your client and see them progress, and to be there for the ones who don't.
  3. ok, guys one more. The other night at work, the guys home this time, not the girls, it was night and everyone was asleep. i went out side and sat at the swing right outside the door to have a smoke break. i left the door open so I could hear anyone get up. The door slowly swung open, ok wind. It slowly swung almost closed, maybe the way the door was hung. Then it continued to swing back and fourth slowly, almost closed to almost all the way open, with no wind the whole time I was outside. Usually when left open by the clients or staff, it stays put, it doesn't swing back and fourth. Interesting. The next day we were watching a movie with clients and had to pause the movie for a bit. the TV turned off by itself twice. One of the clients who was really afraid of ghosts and ghost shows, but who occasionly has watched ghost whisperer, says it must be a ghost in the house. We all laugh, and then he says it must be a timer on the TV. Just a bit spooky these happening one day after another. Third shift has said she hears strange noises at night. But this is not my haunted home, the ladies is. We did have a gentleman die in the home. I don't normally spook easy, and the door and the one time I did see a ghost I was more startled than scared. But after reading this until 400 in the morning, I went to bed and had a nightmare about my sister and I at a LTC. There were ghosts in the LTC. I was a patient and I worked there in the facility in the dream and I had to go and check the meds, which was an office way down a long hall. A client came out of the room and yelled at me and threatened me with violence and I was afraid of the ghosts in the LTC. Ecetra until a doctor came around and taught me that the ghosts were produced by this and that, not really dead spirits. The fear in the dream at the begining was the biggest fear I have had in a long time. Kind of silly, when normally I don't scare that easily on this kind of stuff, and wasn't scared when I went to bed.
  4. My daughter and son had that connection when they were young. My son is autistic and only speaks small words out of the blue, sometimes they are appropriate sometimes not. He is twenty seven now. As a young child he could say family names, pet names, when he would want to see them. He has lost his speech as he grew older. It grew garbled. He calls hi sister mae mae, which is mandarin Chinese for little sister, which she is. He could say agua from watching sesame street. I have heard him say phrases and one sentence out of the blue like three to four times in his whole life. He said bye bye see you later, before he was two and basically stopped talking. He said sissy down when she stood on a table when he was about three. When he was five he said is bobby in bed? His longest sentence. He said Laura babysit? when he was about twenty two when we talked about his step sister watching him for the summer. So you see, very limited speech. My daughter could decode what he was thinking and tell me what he wanted when they were young. She can no longer do this anymore, but it was eerie. She has also seen a toaster float in the air and crash to the floor at my mothers house along with my brother. She has also seen faces floating around her room of family members who had passed on in her room. Interesting thing is, it was the same bedroom that her father used for some time when he was a teen and we were dating. He seen the same thing, faces of his sister and brother and other family members who had past floating in the air. He grew up in that house. Other ghost stories from that house, A close friend of mine seen a woman in the kitchen one morning, she came out of the kitchen and asked my ex who was in the kitchen. He said no one is here. He asked her to describe the woman and it was his mother, who had died in that house. Ok that's enough for now.
  5. A little creepy story about one of my guys from the home I used to work at. I was the coordinator, so when things happened wrong, I was often called. Nothing scary happened with him, well what happened was scary but not in a BOO! way. I was paged that he had had a seizure in the bathroom shower and had broken his leg, bone was visable. So I race over, then follow him in to ER by ambulance. He gets checked out and they stay he has to stay and they will do surgery in the morning. So the take them up to his room by elevator. I was likley calling who I had to tell he was being admitted, so I didn't see which way they went. I knew the floor number and found a close by elevatorand got in. I opened the door, and a nurse or aid asks how did i get up their in that elevator. You have to have a khey to open the elevator from that floor and I had no keyand no one was with me. So how did I get in there and was able to go to the second or third floor.with out an empoyee key? they were pretty addiment that You had to us a key to get up to that floor.Theywere really surprised and told me where my elevator was. Got to his room, and he has another seizure so he was helped and settled in bed. So a nice ghostly worker used her key to let me in, even though I had seen none else there Things that make you go hmmm.
  6. My mother was dying of cancer at the same time as my ex father in law was dying of emphasema. My mom died first. We informed my ex father in law and he said to tell her he would see her in a weeks time. He died exactly one week later.
  7. Our patient came home Friday. She looks to be about the same as usual, but she has oxygen and nebulizer treatments. She hates the nebulizer. She gave me a scare when I went to change her and her respirations were a little bit more than I expected before I changed her. She is tube fed, but she drools alot, and older staff said it would be better for her if she died. Had me crying all the way home. But she calmed down, maybe she will make it. Maybe the figure was just a friendly visit. My boss said she has seen that figure herself. At least I got confirmation on the ghostly presence.
  8. Th elderly client I mentioned in an earlier post that had a figure go into her room has been in the hospital since last thursday. She has aspiration pneumonia. She is not getting better, but worse Please keep her in mind. It is very sad for us.
  9. I had a simular experience when my son was about five years old. We lived in the only two story apartment I had ever lived in. He is autistic. I was giving him a bath in the kitchen in his strawberry toy box. ( there was only a shower there, and I did this with him and his sister, usually in the shower.) The phone rang and I answered it, my attention regretfully taken away from my son. I had been talking for several minutes to my friend as she was helping me through a difficult divorce. I suddenly got a bad feeling and told her to hang on. I don't know how he got up to the window which was really small in the kitchen, but he had one leg out the window when I found him. Scared the crap out of me. Guardian angels are all around us. He is now a healthy twenty seven year old living with his dad, after living with me and going back to his dads for years. Whatever that funny feeling was probably saved if not his life, but at least from some serious damage. We have kept to single story homes after that, and not leave him alone while bathing.
  10. I read alot of these stories way back when and I am coming back to catch up. The one with don't let me die is definately one of the scariest I have read. I am not a nurse, but I work in two group homes and have worked in 4 others before this. The womans home I work at has had lots of clients live there and has been there a long time. I know of at least one death of a client there, but not much about it. Its had alot of managers over the years too. The agency I work for took over the home about 16 years ago. The current manager says there is a spirit in the home. One of the the old staff ( she is not old, lol, but used to work there and now doesn't) told me and a coworker and her girlfriend that she saw a ghost of a person, presumabley a guy, with a hoodie I beleive when she was out having a smoke break. She looked at him and noticed she could see the trees and house through him. Scared the crap out of the coworker and girlfriend listening, as we were sitting in the dark waiting for my husband to connect the generator during a power failure. The girlfriend was really spooked and said she was going outside. Actually she didn't as we reminded her the ghost was out there. But Sarah the one with the story, was none to joke around so she wasn't much believed. One day I was working and helping a client change into pJ's in her room. I was working with the scared coworker. She was in the kitchen doing dishes, when we heard a loud noise from the bathroom. We went in and found the laundry basket on the floor, when it was firmly placed all the way back on the cupboard. I told her it was the ghost and she was very mad at me. I have a liking for ghost stories. and Ghost shows. I often watch them at work when the clients are tucked in and we have down time. All the staff know this. i have worked thirds on occasion and one occasion I was working with a staff I was not fond of. I continued to watch my ghost shows. She said she didn't believe in ghosts. I went out for a smoke break and came around and tapped on the glass door right where she was sitting. She jumped a foot, terrified. We had already told her the house had a ghost and a few of our own ghost stories. I said i thought you didn't believe in ghosts. The last little bit was about two or three months ago. The first stories were about a year ago. Just this last week, a staff for third came in and started talking about the back side of the house, and how she was scared to go back there. She said it's spooky at night. When back there, you can hear tree branches rubbing together. I have heard them, but she says that's not all about the back of the house. Then she told me last week she seen a figure walk from the office to one of the clients rooms in the far side of the house. That client is elderly, and her parents have passed away. Sarah, from the beginning of the story has said she dreamt that that client's mother came to visit her after she died. So it is interesting and hard to know what spirits have visited the home.
  11. my sister said one day when we were like 18 and 19 that she seen like an old fashioned girl, like a prairie girl, sit up out of my body, she seen it while i was sleeping. she would deny it now if asked, anything scary like that from our past she denies. we had just moved in to this house and it was by a whole lot of wooded area, where one could imagine being a settling area. she also seen flying windchimes and some other stuff that night, so i don't know what she was on. my brother and her at another point in that house both saw a flying saucer over the pond in the back yard. she denies this happened too, but my brother insists it was there. there was alot of weird stuff that happened there, it was supposedly haunted by the previous owner and a few others. the house was creepy to drive up to at night, you got a feeling of dread driving up there.:uhoh21:
  12. I mentioned a ghost dog earlier I beleive that my family had. Well I talked to my sister yesterday and she said she did see the ghost dog and it wasn't a dog but a black wolf. I don't have concious memories but when I was age regressed one time I reported wanting to be in a cage in my bed because of a "black bear" I was afraid of that came in my room. Most Likely the wolf.
  13. Yep, my guy is a big guy too. Sometimes all it takes is him to stand up to get order restored in the house, or a yell. I have another one, work related. I work in three group homes. At one of them which was a newly built home when we got it, we could hear footsteps go through the house when noone was there when in the basement. You could also hear doors open and shut. One time I went up to check and there was a dog walking on the deck, but the deck was built on after about five or six years, so that doesn't account for all the noises. Staff on third shift are supposed to sleep down stairs, but everyone refuses (yea, we can sleep for part of third). The house was named after a wife of a higher up in the agency that had passed way. I just ignore it now and figure if someone is there they will come down stairs and talk to me if they want.
  14. My ex worked in a group home a while back. One of his clients was particularly fond of him, I guess he still says his name. The workers were a bit exasperated to here Bob's name day in and out. Well, the other workers thought it would be fun,(in fact it was my ex's girlfriend at the time) to get him to say a swear word after his name. Which he did. So for awhile he went around saying Bob's a**. I see the guy at the day program my people go to and he has refered to me as Bob's mom, but never the other (my son's name is Bobby, they attended camp together.) One of my clients gets a kick out of people asking questions about her, happy to show that she is as capable as them. She giggles and starts talking with her machine, which generates alot of interest. Yes we are not anymore special than anyone else to do our jobs, I am glad they put up with me.
  15. One more for you, i can't remember if I said this before. My mom was a nurse, so maybe that will make it fit, at this time however she was only helping the neighbor with her adult faster care home. That is what got her interested in nursing. Well our home had a dog that would walk through walls. It would walk through the house and out through where the stove was, which used to be a door to the garage. My dad didn't beleive my mom when she told him of this, but one night he was actually home when it happened. I don't remember it at all, but i heard the stories growing up.We lived there untill I was about ten. There was supposed to be a man in the basement that would walk up stairs and wiggle the doorknob but he couldn't get out. It was speculated that the dog guarded the door. Also his picture was supposed to be in the attic and he was trying to get upstairs to his picture. They said i think that he commited suicide in the basement. I have more scary stories but not sure how many I will tell, or how real they were. I know one thing, actively looking for spirits is a dangerous thing, you never know what you may bring back with you. Have fun at work people.
