Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!
Apostacles. No idea if I spelled that right. According to the parents it's Greek for Apostle and is pronounced ah-poss-tah-cleez. The parents had such nice, normal names too. Apostrophe is the nicest nickname that kid will be teased with growing up.
sheitanne-lynn:confused:
she was listed as a surviving grandchild in a recent obit.
it couldn't be pronounced like it looks, could it?

Earlier today I visited the Missouri History Museum, and one of the main exhibits highlights the 1904 World's Fair, held in St. Louis. I learned a lot from this cool (and FREE!) museum situated in Forest Park, but the most disturbing fact?
A baby girl was born in a tent during preparations at the fair. (That's bad enough, right?)
And her name?
Louisiana Purchase O'Leary. She lived to be 100.
I work with the natural birth crowd and we get lots of interesting names.
Girls: River Serenity, Pandora Celeste , Haven Jean, Precious Greene, Isis Grace , Greyson Sparkle, Heaven Jane, Angel Marie, Taffy Leigh, Nevaeh (this one's pretty popular as I've seen it 4 times), Aurora Dawn, Aria Noir, and Tiffany Blu.
Boys: Skye Blue, Dorian Grey(after the writer), Blaze Jorden, Canyon Drake, Crowley Anton, David Hercules, Sterling Archer (yes like the TV show), Killian Blaze, and Lindsey Jacob.

I really have to wonder about naming a child "Pandora". The other names--well, some of them might look strange on the law firm door, but otherwise they're livable withable.
