What's the weirdest baby name?

Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!

Just remembered another good one. I worked with a "Beaunique" once. She said her mother combined Beautiful with Unique. uh...yeah...

I am a school nurse and come across lots of interesting names. I have a parent right now and for privacy I will not say her entire name but her first name is Sparkle and her last name is a condiment.

Here are a few interesting names I have come across:

Honesty, Innocent, Heavenly, Prescious, Fortune

I have had sets of twins; Ricki and Ricky

siblings:

Camery and Cameron,

Jonesha and Jonathan,

Torriona and Torriono Darion and Darius

boy- Gawaka girl- Ghakilah

I had two students in the same grade both Michael J Smith

(not related).

I also heard about a non english speaker who liked the sound of Placenta for her newborn, I believe the nurses talked her out of it.

Birth announcement in the paper the other day said First: Eaton Last Name: Cox......I almost died of laughter and then read it 100 more time to be sure...are you serious...what planet do you live on that you would think that name is ok?:idea::idea:

As for the last name Cox, I had a teacher in high school who went by her maiden name and married name (hyphenated); she was Mrs. DeLong-Cox (not "da-long" but "dee-long).

Yeah, we loved to make fun of that one!:yeah:

Twilla Dawn-pregnant 18 year old mother decided that Twilight wasn't a proper name for her daughter so she shortened it to Twilla and used Dawn as the middle name from Breaking Dawn.Seriously?Twilla is such a weird name

Not the first time I've heard it. There was a contemporary Christian artist I remember from the 80's named Twila Paris. Not sure if it was a given or stage name, but I loved her signing.

Not at all medical-related, but right now in Alabama, we have a candidate running for State Treasurer whose name is Young Boozer. Apparently Young is a traditional name in the Boozer family, because I understand he is neither the first nor the last to carry it.

I heard of one called "Meconium"...said she thought it was pretty...

Some of these names are very unusual for sure, but until you see a person name the baby daughter Homer or Elmer or Orville, and the baby son Lucille or Henrietta, or Hilda, etc Then I think they are okay, even though they are very funny. :D

these names are amazing...wow!!!

Just remembered another good one. I worked with a "Beaunique" once. She said her mother combined Beautiful with Unique. uh...yeah...

Like some people combine narcotics with tranquilizers/alcohol... it may have seemed like a good idea at the time, but later on down the road, it doesn't work well together. :D

Yes, so true my coworker made fun of me because I read a patient name Alize' as a regular name not as the actual drink. Actually, yesterday I had a patient named Patron.
