What's the weirdest baby name?

Specialties Ob/Gyn Nursing Q/A

Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!

...I found this name in the telephone directory while looking up a co-worker. First name of Snorella. Do you think maybe her mom was tired after childbirth?

There have been so many Lemonjello and Orangejello twin sightings that I need proof to believe it. Can you provide a link??

Worst names by far have been (these were all seen on webnurseries so if you need the links for proof I have them, I just wasn't sure if posting links was ok or not)

Urhines Kendall Icy Eight Special K - boy and evidently this is pronounced like your highness

Squirrley Jellybean

Aryan Justice- girl:uhoh21:

Genocide - boy:nono:

Like I said I have links to prove what these kids are named.

Links??? For what? they dont have their own web pages

Hard to give proof because my info is backed up by school and insurance records which are private.. and other nurses. They arent my kids and this isnt an inquisition .Its ok if anyone doesnt believe me..its just a web board..I know it to be true, I have no reason to make it up..the only proof I can give is for you to take a good look at ALL the names here...I dont need to make this stuff up, the parents of the kids listed here have done it for us!! :lol2:

Other than that, trepin, calm down. Eden wasn't jumping down your throat about this, she was just stating that due to the amount of quoted "I know this for a fact"posts on these names, she was wondering about proof.

Sheesh, people seem to be so prickly this past week.

Try inputting these strange names here:

How Many of Me - Front Page

This is based on US Census information.

This is acually fun to peruse:

I apologize. But it is only a web board. I do know for a fact about these names and I have no reason to lie.I was actually amazed that people in other parts of the US heard that name too, especially the woman whos husband works for the SS administration.! As for Web Nursery, it didnt exist at my hospital until only a few years ago and these children are older.(about 12 years old maybe). the idea of this board was input on names we have come across and I admit I was a bit surprised to be put in the position of coming up with proof , especially when there are names here that seem a little more far fetched than Lemonjello and Oranjello. Having worked in Labor and Delivery for more than 10 years I have heard a lot and seeing any these names here actually does not surprise me or raise any doubt about the validity of these names!! I am sorry if I came off a bit punchy. Sorry Eden....

When I did a clinical rotation in nursing school in San Francisco at a public health clinic in the early eighties we had a lovely client who was pregnant. After the birth she came in to show us her twins who she had named after her favorite tv show which was helping her learn English. The two boys were named Starsky and Hutch! We had another client who named her new daughter Clitoria because it sounded so pretty. TRUE!!:lol2:

I went to school with a girl named Marijuana. I don't know if her name was Marijuana or Mary Juana, but I'm sure that was her name. I asked my mom recently because I was sure my memory was fooling me, but my mom said she remembered that girl. I wouldn't believe it if I didn't hear it myself.

My friend's aunt named her son Stone Phillips because she loves that name. And then she named her DD Marilyn because she loves Marilyn Monroe. I think that is a cute name though.
