I love that I get to help make my patients and family comfortable in my patients final moments of life to make a pain free and relaxed transition to the next phase. I also love getting to know the family and hear all the wonderful stories they tell about their loved one. I am so blessed and lucky to be welcomed into one of the most intimate times in a families life. I wouldn't change a thing about what I do. :redbeathe

Tasks? Starting lines. Love the flash. Converting and then controlling rapid afibs is fun too. Fixing kids gives a lot of satisfaction as well.

Love: Giving pain meds that work.

Hate: Being asked for pain meds at 0300, and there are none on the MAR.

Favorite thing would be doing chart checks and finding and fixing errors

Haha. I thought I was the only one who enjoyed this. Also, looking back further into the chart (orders) and understanding the story of the patient. You learn a lot by just skimming 2-3 days of previous orders.

Well in part time I communicate with my colleagues and my friends..I used to do many more things also..To learn more from our seniors..

My favorite part is seeing an acutely ill patient become medication complaint and then be able to participate in groups and be able to function. I love the feeling when they tell me "It was because you helped me."

I really like coming into a chaotic mess with the code cart nearby and just the lines everywhere and all this stuff that needs to be done, I go in, and organize and make my list of things to do. Give all the blood that I need to ( I love giving blood!) It makes me feel really good when I've done everything on the list, and the patient looks just much better than when I came in and the environment is calm. I like feeling as a reverse tornado.

I don't like when my night is calm and goes crazy though. Both happen frequently to me. :)

That last strip of tape on a complex sterile dressing.

Task....suctioning. I love the instant gratification of a BBG full of snot. My favorite is getting a big old mucous plug out of a nare and the kiddo looks so relieved. Just the sound. I also love having a clean patient, clean linens, clean bedside. If they feel good they usually rest better.

I love making a scared kiddo feel better about everything going on around them. It makes me feel good when my patients are excited to see me. I love peds.

I LOVE having my delivery done; pp checks complete; mom voided; bed remade; baby breastfeeding well; visitors gone; lights down.....such a sense of accomplishment in a hectic last few hours....(and then I remember the five hours of strip checks that I still have to do!)
