If you've ever taken this personality test, what was your type? What speciality of nursing are you in? I'm a student considering the ER and am an INFJ.
Good advice :) I've only ever taken online tests and hope to someday take an "official" one. However, what I have read about my own type was spot on with my personality, preferences and nature. I found it extremely interesting.Good day:If knowing your Myers Briggs type matters, do not use a web site to self test, find a professional counselor (at least master's level) to give you the test.Thank you.

I am extremely introverted, to the point where I have no friends (just acquaintances and people with whom I am friendly). Growing up, having friends felt like a requirement, and I went along with it, but I always struggled and found maintaining friendships to be more of a chore and a burden. Going out, hanging out, even talking on the phone with a friend is a struggle for me. Now that I am of an age to make decisions for myself, I choose not to have friends. I have my husband, my kids, and my dogs. I don't have the desire to be with anyone in my free time besides them. I would rather go to work than go to a party, any day of the week.
At work, I am friendly to coworkers and patients alike. I don't think anyone would ever guess I am so introverted and friendless! But I don't view work as a social environment. Even though I have to interact with people there, our interactions are set and guided by what we are there to do. We are not there to entertain one another.

Honestly I think how we are chatting about it - masters level anything really isn't needed. You would be able to tell if it was correct or not in reading the outline of the type.

Yes that's me. Night shift in the MICU is my niche. Not a lot of people around, do fine in 1:1 situations, have time to review the chart and see the big picture, sometimes have downtime for reading a book.
Isabel Briggs said that the purpose of the inventory is to help people recognize their true preferences. I guess there really is a place in nursing for almost everyone.
