As many of you know by now, Kim Kardashian had her baby. As if you couldn't miss all the annoying coverage over every single detail. They named that poor kid North West. What are some of the funniest/weirdest/most unusual baby names you have seen? Could be a patient or someone you know in your personal life. And if you are someone with one of those odd names did you just learn to live with it or would you change it.

And what is UP with the free-for-all tossing of apostrophes into names?? I'm seeing that in birth announcements in the local paper over the last couple of years, too. They make absolutely no sense! Hyphenating names that are, well, TWO names and are strung together for whatever reason the parents want, fine. OK. Sometimes weird, but what the hey.
But apostrophes?? Unless you're giving your child a classic French surname as a first name (Mr. D'Arcy, anyone?) it's completely absurd. Makes the parent AND the poor child who has to bear it look foolish.
Just my own opinion ?

Yes, I met a woman with that name, and I also find it beautiful.
Students my husband's had include: Dymond, Diamond, Avon, Chenelle, Chanal, Chantelle, Dilante, Revelonne, and Estee.
Family I grew up with, last name Coon, Kids named "Ric,", "Rac," and "Ty". (raccoon, tycoon?) Another boy I went to school with, Frankie Weiner (no I'm not kidding.)

The first woman in outer space was a cosmonaut named Valentina Tereshkova. When I was ten or so, that was what I wanted to name my daughter.
My kindergarten "boyfriend" was named Levi Denim. I *think* his first name was Andrew or something, but he went by his middle name, Levi, from birth. Why his parents did that to him is beyond me. I also went to school with a "James James."
A group of little girls I taught Sunday school to were named China, Asia and Africa (they're sisters). I don't recall if they were spelled like the geographic areas, though.
Working at a high end day camp years ago there were lots of great names...
Siblings Paris and Jet
Siblings Porsche and Ferrari
Working at the hospital, a girl named her baby Baebie
Here's some food for thought on the subject:
I wish I could remember how to spell it, but basically we were transferring a patient over to a different hospital. The name was very long and in the middle there was something like apple or rainbow or something like that. Basically, it was over 15 letters for the first name and an equally long last name. The person thought I was lying.
Tonight's Conan was entitled "Never name your daughter Dilda." Thought this was apropos.

Actually Ashley was orginally a boy name.
