Whats in your bag?

Ok - so I'm in the market for a new bag. Schlepping these books across campus is rough. A friend of mine has a wheelie back-pack. I have a regular backpack and a supplemental messenger bag for lab days. What kind of bag do you have? Does it have wheels? What else do you typically carry?

One if my classmates used to transport her books/supplies in a rolling carry on sized suitcase. The kind of 4 wheels and zippered compartments. Looked a little odd, but super useful and you almost never have to lift it.

This is actually what I'm considering - but I don't want to look like a weirdo pulling a suitcase along!! No - really - I didn't get kicked out of my house - I own it. These aren't my clothes - its my books - I swear!!!

I like it a lot.

I'm finishing up my first semester, so as far as what's in bag - my MacBook, a spiral bound notebook, some folders and a metric ton of pens. I throw my wallet, badge and stethoscope in there as needed. The only books I carry (and only when I really need them) are the NANDA book and the ATI book. The rest I did ebooks for.

Meh I had a regular Jansport, then the cat vomited in it and I could never get the smell out. I've been carrying a plain tote around. I don't have 2000 page books to schlep around anymore though, since this is my last semester.

In my little tote -

A pencil box for highlighters, white out, tape, my mints, usb, etc.

A flexi binder for each subject.

My planner.

Nclex book.

Laptop and charger.

At this point, at the end of my semester and nursing undergrad journey, I now wish I'd gotten all e-books. They're cheaper, and would be saved and easy to reference for grad school. I'd have spent about the same, since I sold my used textbooks for usually half their cost or less.

Search "rolling shopper tote" on amazon. I used that on days I had to lug a bunch of books around (mostly study group days). I found most days I didn't need it and it was easier to just use a backpack (but I also commuted to school on a crowded train and it was hard to fit the rolling bag between the seats).

Ive got a pretty standard backpack from The Northface. In it a carry my water bottle, some pens, markers, highlighters, and my laptop. Sometimes I might even add in a three ring binder to hold my printed power point notes. Ive thankfully never had the need to lug around any textbooks.

A lot of people in my program have the wheelie backpacks, but I just went with a regular backpack (I think it's Swiss Army). To be fair, I'm only taking one class per day. Some of the students who went with the wheelie backpacks are taking 2 a day and may need to bring more books to campus than I do. Generally I bring my laptop, 1-2 2 inch binders, and a pen case. It's rare for me to bring a textbook to class.

I have the Wenger Swiss Gear roller as I have to take two computers with me (one for work one for school) plus everything else. I use it taily for both work and school and it's amazing. It has tons of room and is so well made it never falls apart.

I lug around a pretty standard JanSport backpack. It's one of their laptop-sized ones. I always keep a fairly large collection of pens, pencils, highlighters, and my calculator in the front pocket. Most of my textbooks are on my kindle, so that makes it nice. Things you'll never catch me without are some feminine products, advil, tylenol, and plenty of tea bags! My school has free sources of hot water, so when I'm not drinking water, I'll brew a cup of tea.

I appreciate everyone's comments!! I guess we each have to find our way, but right now these Anatomy books are ridiculously heavy!!
