Just thought I'd start a thread about the classes all of us will be taking this Fall... maybe we can start our sticky support groups early. Lol... j/k. I am really excited though.:w00t:
I am taking:
Freshmen Writing Composition (aka: Writing for Special Topics)
College Algbra:stone
Biological Science I w/ lab:roll
Introduction to Sociology:yeah:
How about you?
AP1, I'm kind of jelous for those people who are taking a a full work load - I'm loving my biology class.
The most important is to take things at your pace....I never compare my efforts with anyone elses. As long as you make the grade who cares! I have seen too many people take too many credit hours and then not get a competitive grade or outright fail the classes
I am moving on up too.....
Finally, after all the work I get to start Nursing classes. I am jumping up and down and throwing up:barf01: on the inside at the same time.
NURS-B 230 Developmental Issues in Health
NURS-B 231 Communication Skills for Health Professionals
NURS-B 232 Introduction to the Discipline of Nursing
I am also finding it strangely hard to say good bye to the pre-nursing discussion forum. I feel like a baby birdy about to fly from the nest. Let me practice flapping my wings :thankya: :thankya: .
Well I am done all my pre reqs, but I will need a communication to graduate, its only a short term class online so I'll be taking that aug-october. I have also signed up for Spanish, I don't "need" it for school but I know I'll need it for real life (I live in Southern Ca). However I am still not sure I will go through with taking it because I am kind of thinking I don't want to do any studying in the fall so I can be refreshed for January when I hopefully get into N.S Also I have 3 kids and I would like to give them all my time this fall volunteering etc in classes, its my daughters last year at elemantary school and this past year I was very scarce and would like to make up for it.
I also live in So Cal...where are you? I'm in Seal Beach. I think I might take Spanish as well...what a good idea! We deff need it here...and I'm sure being bilingual would help interviews!

I'm finding it hard to say goodbye to my anatomy classes! I will miss them and my instructors so much!!
Wow, Your schedule seems ALOT!!!!The first semester for me is like this: Its divided into 2 Flex sessions which are 8 weeks long each. I start out with Fundamaentals and its clinical for the first Flex and MedSurg and its clinical for the second Flex.....We won't have Pharmacology until the second semester, but Pharm will be 16 weeks long (the only class which will be 16 weeks!). Do you have all of these classes all at once for a 16 week semester? Our school offers a crash course in Pharm over the summer, I signed up, it will be 3 days from 8-5 p.m. sometime in August before I start. Maybe your shcool has something similar available? I heard horror stories about Med Surg and Pathophysiology at our program....I am scared to death! Good luck and congratulations on your acceptance
We'll be whining to each other soon LOL
Hey stpaulie (and fellow Texan!!)
I think that your classes sound much better!! Mine are all the entire semester except for clinicals, which starts in October. I am dreading Pharmacology the most. I don't have med-surg at my school, so I don't guess I will have that fear!!! Unless they call it something else!!! I wish we had a crash course for Pharmacology!! Sure would make things much easier. I hear that class is the make or break you class Hmm, guess we will see!
Know that we are in the same boat on our scaredness!!! Is that even a word?! Anyway, I'm sure we will do just fine. After all, many have gone before us and made it. Are you going for LVN, RN or BSN? I am working on RN right now with plans to go for an MSN.
Good luck to you, and I am sure I will "see" you in the Nursing Student forum!! Hopefully we can help each other through this journey!

BouBou,
I am with you on leaving here! It is tough, because for a year now, this forum has been my second home!!! I guess we can keep on in here as support for the little birdies!!! Because soon enough, they will be joing us in the other forums!
As far as the :barf01: , I know how you feel there, also!!! One minute, you feel like screaming from the rooftops with joy, the next, you feel like hugging the toilet!!! For me, the hardest daywill be August 19, the day before school starts! I'm sure me and the toilet will become best friends on that day!!!
Good luck~
