What will YOU do with your first "real" paycheck!?

as inspired by another thread, here's a motivational question! i guess this is more of a question for those of us who haven't had a real career before nursing....

what will you do with your first "real" paycheck?

i'm going straight to the salon. new cut, highlights, facial, mani, pedi...the works!

then, straight to the mall with my plastic because for the first time in my life it won't be just for "emergencies" anymore!

i can't wait!

Oh, also, I am going to start a "vacation fund" so my son and I can go on our first vacation to Sea World:)

That's a good idea!! A real vacation, by that time I'll really deserve it and the kids need it. I'll also start repaying school loans. It makes me nervous owning that much money. :uhoh21:

Finally get my teeth fixed!!

I want braces!!

OMG!! I'm gonna kiss my check a thousand times! And buy me a nice pair of shoes and a bag, then start saving for a car.... My first ever paycheck, will hopefully be a nursing paycheck!

I am going to completely blow it :) I am blessed that my fiance makes enough that we can stretch and pay all the bills....so for the first couple checks I am going to enjoy all the hard work.

With my first check I plan on going to the salon and actually getting my hair done (no more loreal boxes that I hope I don't miss a spot!). After that i'm going shopping and getting a full outfit and going out to dinner with my fiance, he has been so supportive of me throughout nursing school. After that I plan on taking him to best buy and getting him a big screen tv like he has been wanting but putting off because he is helping me through school(shhh don't tell him :). After that all my nursing money will go towards my wedding.....can't wait!

When i get my first pay check I plan on doing a few things. 1st save the stub in my scrapbook 2nd actually put 10% aside to start my 10% saving plan 3rd go to the hair salon and mall 4th Give a token of love to my church and family who have supported me for the years and 5th take 20% to put aside for my loan repayment

With all this being said last but NOT least I will be thanking GOD for the blessing he has placed before me. To finally be able to get a pay check thats more than $700 will be a reward itself. These long hard working years of nursing school only being able to work 12-16 hrs a week still having to pay car payment, rent, utilities and etc... will finally be over!!!

Take my well-deserved, supportive husband who has helped me tremendously thru NS on a mini-vacation minus the two kids.

Or maybe start paying down student loans????

OK. First I won't have to pay back loans right away because I'll be taking classes toward my BSN soooo....

  • Thou Shalt have a day alllll to myself to get my HAIR DONE royally

I will get to find out in 10 months and counting....

1st I am going to give God his 10% off the gross.

Then I am going to start a savings acct for vacation fund....We actually never been on a vacation but my husband and kids deserve it for putting up with me and school for the past 4years.

Next I am going to by my stepson a whole bunch of stuff to take to college and put a little spending cash to the side for him.

Start saving up enough for a deposit so I can move into my own place again! I miss peace and quiet ...

Or maybe start paying down student loans????

Ok, Mommy guilt, maybe we take the kids to Disneyworld and I take advantage of the 6 month grace period for student loans.
