What will YOU do with your first "real" paycheck!?

as inspired by another thread, here's a motivational question! i guess this is more of a question for those of us who haven't had a real career before nursing....

what will you do with your first "real" paycheck?

i'm going straight to the salon. new cut, highlights, facial, mani, pedi...the works!

then, straight to the mall with my plastic because for the first time in my life it won't be just for "emergencies" anymore!

i can't wait!

Call the gov't office that loaned me tuition $$$$ and begin the process of paying off my 30-40K loan. :( Why they ever decided to get rid of the 3 yr RN program is beyond me, especially with this supposed nursing crisis. :uhoh3:

oh wow...good question! Well I guess I would do a few things. #1 I would start a savings(I've never made enough money to put anything in a savings) #2 Go on a mini shopping spree (Just to get it out of my system, I have not bought anything that was not a neccessity in years) #3 Pay bills:chuckle

First cash the check and count it all!!! Give out a few LOVE OFFERINGS, to include my parents!!! Buy kids anything they want (1 item each, LOL) Do whatever Hubby wants to do, maybe a nice HOTEL for some R&R and more!!! HMMM, still got over a $1000 left, LOL. Okay buy some new clinical shoes, get a full body massage, no wait hubby can do that won't cost me one red cent if he does, no go get it done professionally too. Wow, bring it on!!! God bless us all, thank you Jesus for your blessings.

I'm gonna pay bills and put some in savings!

But yea, the kids are gonna get something special too.....

Oh, also, I am going to start a "vacation fund" so my son and I can go on our first vaction to Sea World:)

After admiring it and shedding a few tears, I'm going to get a copy of it and put it in my scrapbook. Then I'm going to put half of it in my 2 accounts that I'm going to start....my "rainy day" account and my "hubby and me" account. I'll probably do something special for myself, dh and the kids....if there is any left, I'll probably take my parents out to a dinner and show.

I'm hoping to go on a cruise...IF I can talk my husband in to it. lol. Actually I'm hoping to do this BEFORE I start working - as a graduation present to myself.

I have some money saved and am hoping to not have to dip into it TOO much during the rest of school... so the first thing I am going to do? But a house for me and my kids :) That's what I have always wanted- for my kids to grow up in their own house! So I don't have to say to them.. sshhhhh... the downstairs neighbor!!!

I am gonna go to the grocery store and buy enough real meals for everyday of the week. Walmart brand mac and cheese with no milk and hotdogs will not be made in my house for awhile.

hmmmmm good Q.........

my first check......

i think with my first check i'll buy something special for my partner and son, the two ppl who along with me, have suffered thru all this schooling.

after that it will be time to pay down the credit card we not-so-affectionately call the "student loan card".

then it will be home improvemant time, siding, new wood flooring throughout our house, and, a new roof.
