What will you do with your RN license?

Published

I'm curious what everyone is considering.....Not necessarily what you WILL do, but I guess more of, what do you want to do with your license? What are your goals?

My goal is to become a L&D nurse and to eventually become a CNM and open my own birthing center or work within a birthing center.

i love many areas in Nursing.. During our clinical areas, i really enjoyed OR, i want to be an OR nurse and Ortho nurse..

Now, im thinking also to be a psyche nurse, i want to reach out and help people who are struggling with depression, schizophrenia, bipolar, eating disorders etc.

And Oncology nurse....when my beloved mom was diagnosed last year with "that "disease, i considered and im seeing myself as an onco nurse as well, i understand how cancer patients are going through and i want to help them. I want to be an oncology nurse, i want to be their strength and i want to help them.

Having that LICENSE - best thing ever!

Inspire, touch and save lives thats my motto and thats im going to do with my license soon this year! ( im praying really hard to pass NCLEX this year 2012)

At this point in time, I think working in the OR, ER, or as a home health nurse would be interesting...

I definitely am interested in psych (I have a previous degree and experience in it). But I'm also interested in CCU, ICU, and Med/Surg. I have been looking into travel nursing and really like the idea of traveling to different places, and making a little extra money with very little overhead. We shall see...

I would like to start in CVICU and eventually become a CRNA or a nursing program instructor. I definitely see teaching in my future in some capacity.

Specializes in LDRP.

I would love to work in PICU or NICU. However, I am graduating in August and already have a job offer on a med surg ortho floor. Ill take it.

Specializes in Dialysis.

I love the brain.

I'm interested in neurology, pediatrics, cardiology.

I am thinking about getting into autism education.

The GI lab looks like a good place to be. Geez! There are so many options!

Specializes in CMSRN.

I've known from the moment that I decided to go to nursing school that I wanted to focus on L&D on my way to becoming a CNM also. I am going to try to focus on Med-Surg for about 2 years to get some practical experience on all kinds of issues before trying to focus on L&D and go back to get my Master's in Nursing. So excited to think about it though!!

Ultimately, I want to travel. ICU and ER seem to be the market right now so I hope to get into either residency program for New Grads as soon as I graduate. As soon as I've fulfilled my contract and prior obligations, going on the road baby!

I work in L&D now as a US so I would want to become a L&D Nurse one day and eventually become a Labor and Delivery Clinical Educator.
