I'm curious what everyone is considering.....Not necessarily what you WILL do, but I guess more of, what do you want to do with your license? What are your goals?
My goal is to become a L&D nurse and to eventually become a CNM and open my own birthing center or work within a birthing center.

I'm interested in being a psych nurse, working with people who battle addictions, travel nursing, and possibly public health nursing. I would also love to end up as a nurse educator with a Master's degree.

I'm interested in icu/er. I'm hoping to become an acute care np or do the emergency medicine acute care family practitioner dual role. And I'd love to specialize in cardiovascular care. I love the cardiovascular system.

My passion lies in breastfeeding education, so L&D, pediatrics, public health, and community health are looking like good areas of opportunity. I have yet to do any of these rotations though, so we will see which ones I enjoy the most. :) I could always get my lactation consultant certificate and work as a consultant on the side, if the field I end up in has nothing to do with breastfeeding.

IF I ever get into nursing, I would say either ER or cardiovascular. I know I have to work my way to them, but I'm willing to do that though. Surgery looks interesting too, but I might get grossed out (lol), too close to internal organs and such.
Eventually, I would want to go into teaching later on. Hopefully, pass on what I've learned. Nursing is just too hard to get back into right now. Oh well. . . I'm sure there are others who would want to do what I want to do.

My intimidate goals after getting my RN is to work in the ER department while I work on becoming a NP. The only problem is I'm not sure what I want to specialize in as a NP, but I figure I have plenty of time before I cross that bridge to figure it out.

My goals for now is to work in the NICU and eventually become a neonatal nurse practitioner. I was born at 24 weeks and I feel like it is my job in life to give back. To be born so early without any cognitive/developmental disabilities and very few physical disabilities is truly a blessing and I think I was put on this earth to make a difference.
Of course I am willing to work anywhere and who knows, maybe during nursing school I will fall in love with a different specialty :)

I am not completely sure yet. I just know ever since I was little I have always wanted to be a nurse. I enjoy all aspects of nursing. I do like OB a little more than other areas though. I would like to become a NP. Eventually I would like to come back an teach nursing. I want to help others reach their goals, the way my professors help us. Also the reason that nursing school is so competitive is become the schools do not have the staffing to accommodate all who apply.:redbeathe

I'm interested in becoming an NP and going into primary care. I'm not entirely sure what I'll do to while I'm working on my MSN...I'll probably just take whatever I can get! I can't wait to start clinicals in August so I can see what areas appeal to me.

Prior to going to nursing school, I worked as a Licensed Fitter and Dispenser of Hearing Instruments... In other words, a hearing aid specialist. It was while working in this field that I realized I have a love for interacting with people and a passion for wanting to help improve people's lives...
Yet I found myself wanting to go above and beyond working with hearing alone. This is why I decided to go to nursing school. I'm not exactly sure what "type" of nursing I want to go into, but I definitely have a passion for working with the elderly.

As much as I am trying to fight it due to personal issues my heart is being tugged towards peds and L&D.

Oncology followed by hospice. I can't imagine working anywhere else.
