Hi all! Wondering what you wear when you are pregnant. I wear scrubs all the time because I love pockets. Just can't find many maternity scrub tops. i am going to get me some stretch drawstring pants for my soon to be growing belly, but wondering what to wear on top?

I've never been pregnant, but my friend used to wear drawstring scrub pants with a warm up jacket over a tee shirt. When her belly grew and the drawstring irritated her, she would turn the scrub pants around, wear them backwards and just tie them in the back. The warm up jacket might be too hot for the summer, though, unless your facility has super A/C like ours does! You can just get a bigger size scrub top and pants just for your pregnancy or you can also try online for scrubs if there isn't a uniform store close by. Various brands have maternity scrubs available.

What about a vest? It can be left open as your belly expands, but you'll still have the convenience of pockets. I wear my vest at least once a week with scrub pants and a 3/4 sleeve knit shirt. I'm not in the family way, but I know what you mean about not having pockets.

I never bought maternity scrubs....way too expensive for me, considering the short amount of time I'd be wearing them. What I did was went to Target or WalMart and bought a couple of pairs of white (or any other color, that suits) elastic waist cotton pants. They were much more comfortable for me rather than scrub pants and cost a heck of a lot less than maternity pants. In addition, I'd buy different colors of cotton maternity T-shirts and just wear that to work. That way if anything got on them, I didn't spend a lot of money on it and they could be replaced for pretty cheap.

(Hey, after 4 kids, you learn to make do! )

Congratulations and wishing you a safe and comfortable pregnancy!

I've just been buying my pants in a larger size. As for shirts, when the time comes, I will probably be buyign a vest. I also love my pockets.

Congrats from another 2006 mommie! -Andrea

I wore maternity tshirts and bigger sized scrub tops...I normally wear a small shirt, I wore a large during my pregnancy, worked out well

I wore the large scrubs that I had before I lost 40# before I got pregnant. They worked out fine and I worked up until my due date. Congratulations to you and good luck. :balloons:

Try Cherokee Maternity scrubs. They have an "all around" panel and I just love them.... the pants and the top are sooo roomy. I do the t-shirt and vest thing too and that works well. But as far as the pants go, I hate the drawstring...it gets in the way and annoys the heck out of me. ~~~Last shift tonight~~~

YIPPEEE....(I am 'bout OVER it!!)
