IN houston yeah u need a 3.8 or higher. But, i got into UTHSC-san antonio with a 3.6 and a 3.4 science. So, look into other schools if possible. good luck!

I go to UT-Houston School of Nursing and LOVE IT!
My gpa was 3.8, with a 4.0 for the science classes. The lowest gpa I know of is 3.6. Keep your grades up and try to get the best gpa you can. A good gpa will get you an interview, and an amazing interview will get you in.
Best of look to you! I hope you get into UT-H. Let me know how it goes!

I got into TWU Houston regular program and accelerated program and UT Houston accelerated program. I was one of those who went into it thinking I didn't have the GPA but I made it! So I'm encouraging others to not give up hope. I had about a 3.5 pre-nursing and 3.66 science gpa but I made all A's on Anatomy 1&2 labs, Micro and lab, nutrition, and patho/pharm even though it wasn't required. I also made a 98 percentile on the NET which I think made up for some of my GPA. I also feel like I had a really good interview. Have 7 yrs in healthcare experience (5 hrs pharmacy tech and 2 yrs in hospital nonprofit fundraising). Just know that it is not all about GPA. If you have high test scores, experience, and interview, it can happen for you! Best of luck.

From what I've seen, it seems to me that the interview and NET scores were the saving grace with a lot of people.
Besides, in my opinion, GPA isn't the best measure of who will survive nursing school and make a great nurse. Don't get me wrong, GPA is important, but I also think that the interview is a big part of it.

please do not follow what evryone says please and please, if you feel this is what u want apply apply apply
here is my story
i decided on houston, looked around for schools in , in feb i found out twu fast track, i quickly turnedin everything 1 day to the deadline, (thank God for nice professors ), and im talking bout admission to the school before admission to the program, anyway, i made it through i had everything in before the deadline for the actual nursing prog and also applied for scholarships barely meeting that deadline...well after months of waiting i received a letter that i didnt get in , meanwhile i was taking both gov 1 and 2 and hist 1and 2, i was sooo sad and dropped all classes i could still withdraw.....anyway i got a letter saying i was accepted into the trad program.....and i found out i coould take clep courses for my gov and hist..........a month later i got a call offering the fast track and i accepted....my GPA?....way less than 3.5 (i explained the reasons though)
anyway my point is please just apply you neva know...pps said the cutoff was 3.75 but i got in !!!!!!!!!!......with no hospital experience watsoever
i did great on the NET too...and i received some great scholarships
God works wonders
