HOW NOT TO FAIL 3 TIMES ....my story
i did the online hurst review first for the first two weeks , then kaplan, i did 100-150 questions a day, i also broke down the last 2 q trainers to two days . for meds i used kaplan and also i seed the little book call pharmacology made easy or something like that i cant remember the name but it had lots of pictures...i read that while at work . the last two days i memorized my lab values, cranial nerves, infection control and very important meeds....i did a brain dump (writing all i crammed on the board they gave us) as soon as the exam started. so i didn't struggle to remember anything i just looked at what i wrote down. also i practiced relaxation techniques , breathing in and out , etc (because i panicked one time) all these might seem like a lot but i told myself i was not going to take this exam again and i would do all i have to.

HOW NOT TO FAIL 3 TIMES ....my story
first of all a lil background on myself . 2nd degree, first was biology, hesi score 1200 (crazy awesome right ?..yea ok) put off nclex till after my wedding and guess what i did , i took it three weeks after and you guessed it..i failed. why? because i felt i didn't need to study that much, all my friends passed so hey!!, well they didn't have weddings or honeymoons and all that , they studied. i also felt with a hesi score that high what are the odds. i was wrong . YOU HAVE TO STUDY . because it was so close to my wedding no one knew i had taken it , except hubby ofcourse so i didn't tell anyone. the second time around, i still had the wedding blues, inlaws stayed in our place, ppl were always visiting, i took the hurst review and felt i was ready enough ...i failed..this time everyone knew...i just told them i passed i couldn't handle the truth...i wrote a thread on here too third time around i did the remedial hurst review...which was very useless if you ask me, a lot of memorizing. although i was very prepared you could wake me up and i would recite the entire book. when i got to the exam i recognized every word but i did not know how to answer them i was very confused. and as soon as 76 hit i started to panic and cry and couldn't breathe i took a break, i ran out of time oh yea i failed too in nursing school i was never one to study a bunch of nclex questions , maybe 50 for a test and thats it, because nursing school exams were topic based you could just read the material and pass...i was very good at that. so i had not done a lot of questions to be honest in my 3 times of taking the nclex i only did about 150 questions . now you are saying "how wont you fail?" right . by the way i don't advice anyone to lie about passing , because the amount of "have you started working?" that follows is ridiculous and takes a snow ball effect of lies . i thank God my husband was so encouraging. TO PASS THIS IS MY ADVICE. TO PASS THE VERY FIRST TIME 1) TAKE IT RIGHT AFTER YOU GRADUATE , LESS THAN 2 MONTHS AFTER YOU GRADUATE 2) TAKE THE KAPLAN AND THE HURST REVIEW (BOTH) KAPLAN FOR QUESTIONS AND HURST FOR CONTENT 3) IF YOU WANT TO CATCH UP ON DISEASES, NURSING CARE PLANS ARE THE BEST, BECAUSE THEY ALREADY PRIORITIZE THE ACTIONS FOR YOU i am proud to say i am now an RN , after studying 5-6 hours a day for a 8 weeks excluding the weekends (it was impossible to study ) , after 3000 plus questions (finished the entire kaplan bank and trainers), i am now an RN:nurse:. as you can see i would have avoided all those fails if i just did what i did this time around. so plea avoid all my mistakes. honestly speaking i feel kaplan is worth every single penny, you have to be dedicated and read all your rationales. i bought my husband a gift and a card to thank him for encouraging me :redbeathe i thank the lord God for enabling me goodluck guys ....please please study and take it ONCE

how many of you have started taking the qbank questions . my goal is to take 150 a day but i am really struggling with that. i need like 4 -5 people to sorta study with like support each other....for example after i finish a set of 50 or 150 questions a day i have to report back here and others will too. im soo fagged out also i noticed that once you get distracted mentally your scores go down ...its pretty much automatic for me ...so pls remove any distractors YOUR CELL PHONE
