I'm just wondering what everyone else is doing while they wait to hear from their first choice nursing schools.
Are you researching materials that will be needed, brushing up on some courses taken, still taking courses, marking the days off on your calendars or decorating !! I was redecorating but, that budget is tapped dry.... ANY THOUGHTS?

I've been focusing on finishing these last 4 classes that I'm taking this semester. They are all pre-req's for the bridge to a BSN once I've got the ASN. I'm taking Sociology, Art 1, Spanish 1 and Statistics. I can't wait for this semester to be over with!

I just spent time studying for the last class I need to finish before starting in the fall and went about my day-to-day activities. No point in wishing time would go by faster because fall will be here before I know it.
Mom/nurse i was considering beginning on those classes. Is statistics difficult?
I wish i could relax enough to go about my daily tasks , good luck chicagoing.

You mean besides going crazy?
I'm focusing on the classes I'm taking now: A&P, Micro, Human Growth, and Sociology. I'm heading towards a 4.0 for midterm grades (which they treat as final grades during the admissions process), and working my ass off to make sure I look better than everyone else on paper. I hate that it's so competetive, but at least it means those who get in will be dedicated.
I should hear back by this time next month, and it seems like FOREVER to wait.

I've been finishing up my last prerequisite, A&P 2, and getting ahead on the required reading for the first semester of nursing school. I've also been doing a lot of research on this website about things people recommend doing to get ahead. So far it seems like dosage calculations and pathophysiology are worth taking a gander at ahead of time. I've also seen that its worth investing in NCLEX PN books for the first 2 semesters of a 2 year RN program because of the significant overlap and head start in NCLEX review. I am very interested to here what other people are doing to prepare :)

Aside from running to the mailbox every single day...
I'm working part time as a CNA and taking A&P and Human Growth and Development. I also hang out with my cats and clean my house (sometimes, if I'm really bored, haha!)
The wait is torture!!!

Well...
First I was really stressing out and having major anxiety about whether or not I'll get accepted and about this dreadful long wait.
Now in concentration on APII and Life Span Development and staying positive

Finishing up my pre-req's and reading Pathophysiology made incredibly easy....(I will be taking Patho this summer) My kids are keeping me pretty busy as well. I will start to reading a NCLEX study guide once I'm finished with the Patho book!!!!!

LOSING MY DAMN MIND!
I'm trying to engage in other activities as far as I can extend them until approx. March 15.
That letter consumes my thoughts every hour on the hour.
I'm afraid to browse any subject that pertains to nursing in fear of jinxing it all. If I get in, then I'll re-read, well skim, my A&P book that I saved.

Job applications. Been certified as a CNA since December and still haven't gotten past the first interview. Between that and waiting for the informational meeting and test scheduling session on Friday I'm rather terse this week.

Aside from having a panic attack every other day, stalking the mailman, and harassing the academic advisors at my college (j.k, not really), I've been trying to focus on my school work and finishing this semester with a BANG since I will be done with ALL my pre-reqs and support courses for the nursing program at my college! I keep telling myself NOT to think about this whole process because it throws me off and gets me very anxious! Everyday I give myself a little pep talk to help encourage me and remember that I need to take one day at a time...Focus on today, not tomorrow. Each day I set small goals for myself because every little victory I achieve all adds up in the end...I wish everyone the best of luck!! :w00t:
