What to Use?!? KAPLAN Review or Self-Study using Saunders

Published

Hi everyone. I'd graduated last March 2008 for my BSN. I'm an international graduate. I took the NCLEX-RN March 26,2010 and failed... Well, I think it's mostly fault to bcoz I didn't really study hard. I'm planning to take it again on July 2010.

I just want to ask what do you guys suggest for me to do for me to pass. Kaplan Review Course or just do self-review using Saunders Comprehensive and Q&A book. And, I also have La Charity book.

Hope you guys can help me out bcoz I really don't know what to do!!! Huhuhu..

Thanks and God Bless us!

Hi there!

I haven't taken kaplan yet, but I have heard great things about it so I am going to fork over the money to make sure I do everything possible to pass the 1st time. I am using Saunders for content, I have developed a study schedule and I am using kaplan for test taking strategies. I have used Saunders throughout the program and my scores increased on exams. From what I have read, combining the two has been successful to those that are disciplined. I don't think everyone needs kaplan, but if you failed the 1st time I think it can only help you and they have changed the NCLEX. I'm willing to invest in kaplan because I am graduating from an ABSN and I think I need the extra study tips I didn't take the time to develop in the year that I was in my program. Good Luck :)

Every one of those resources should prove helpful if you put effort into your preparation and approach it seriously. Good luck.

I used Saunders 4th edition, saunders Q&A and NCLEX 4000.. NCLEX 4000 is really helpful and close to the real thing.
