I will be graduating from nursing school in May, and is just curious about what type of things do new graduates do when they become a nurse. My plans is to invest in a house and maybe a new car. I have a 10-year old son and he is really looking forward to this. Do you think this is possible with the income new grads will start off making?
Buy the way, in my state (MI) most hospitals start btw 22-24 dollars an hour.
Just curious, RN in 07' :balloons: :balloons: :balloons:
I bought a new-to-me turbo volvo(only slightly used as a rental car) the day I got my NCLEX results. I had buyer's remorse and hardly bought anything until 6 months later. My husband and I just upgraded to a slightly larger house with more yard. I am happy with the new things, but now feeling a little locked into things because I found out that I was pregnant just after moving. Our bills depend on 2 full-time incomes, so grad school will have to be delayed for awhile.
OH I remember like it was yesterday! After I got a month of paychecks under my belt I moved out (I was divorced and my son 4 at the time were living with my parents) got a spacious 2 br apt and a brand new firebird formula! My car payment was $168 a month and rent was $325, and I though that was a LOT-lol!

My husband and I bought a house... we settle on friday! We have no kids yet and I would not have been able to do it on my own this early in my career but I am so thankful that we can finally afford to do this.
