What type of drug tests do nursing schools do?

Urine, Blood, or Hair? I'm just curious, as I've had a hair test done before and they cut 2 chunks out!! Not sure how that would look now considering my hair is so short!!

Not in Australia, only in the US, what happens if you were caught ? Anyone would like to share ?

I just did my 10 panel urine test this morning for my program.

I think we had urine and a little cheek thingy-not so much a swab, but a bitter stick that we had to hold in our cheek for several minutes. Funny how all of that seems like a blur now! Oh, and they did a background check too. I know at the hospital where I used to work, if you had a valid Rx for something that showed up it was handled case by case.

atsem - I believe that if it was a positive test, we would be out of the program and school on our behinds...quickly.

I have had to pee in a cup 4, count them 4, times! I've also had to do three background checks that consisted of sending my fingerprints to the FBI. I have nothing to hide either, but it gets a little expensive to pay for!

I attend Miami- Dade Medical we had to submit a current urine test with our package. I had mine's done at my Dr's office.

Urine test. It was one of the things on a long list of requirements to complete before the semester started.

surprisingly, my school did not do a drug test; however, our student handbook says that they can do random drug testing, I guess. I've only ever had drug tests for my job - I work as a nurse tech in a hospital.

Mine does a urine sample at the beginning, then random ones whenever they please.

I'm not in the program yet but my school also requires drug screening and a background check. I'm kind of hoping it's just a pee test. And I believe that it has to be repeated every semester so I will probably have 4 as well.
