What do you all think of Galen College of Nursing?

Published

What are your alls opinions of Galen College of Nursing? It seems to be a college I can go to and more likely to get accepted but I don't know if that is a good thing or not.... I just want to make sure I'm getting the same education as anyone else would to become a great RN. Any help?

Yes can anyone share their experience during Galen and after?

Have a friend who went there. I wouldn't recommend it.

I personally know several people that have completed the LPN and RN programs through Galen College of Nursing who highly recommend the experience. Galen College of Nursing programs are designed to equip students with the knowledge and experience needed to be a leading professional in the field of nursing through a highly structured hands on learning approach in their programs. Galen College of Nursing also provides world class support to their students during the job search with dedicated career placement support for all students. When comparing tuition costs with other nursing programs I personally feel that the additional support Galen College of Nursing provides its students really gives them added value that nursing programs through traditional universities just can’t offer the aspiring nursing professional.

This is WillSanders first and only post. But includes information that comes directly from Galen's advertising materials. Or maybe I'm just a suspicious old bat. Either way, I wouldn't place too much confidence in the 'opinion' of someone who has no direct knowledge of the school but feels qualified to make broad comparisons between a commercial program and "traditional universities"

What is a troll? I have seen it used before on AN, but am confused. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

In Internet slang, a troll (pron.: /ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is someone who posts inflammatory,[1]extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[3] The noun troll may also refer to the provocative message itself, as in: "That was an excellent troll you posted." While the word troll and its associated verb trolling are associated with Internet discourse, media attention in recent years has made such labels subjective, with trolling describing intentionally provocative actions and harassment outside of an online context. For example, mass media has used troll to describe "a person who defaces Internet tribute sites with the aim of causing grief to families."

I wouldn't call this person a "troll", its not really what the term is meant to refer to. Maybe a "spammer" if anything.

Thanks for the info! I learned something new!
