Something to understand what nurses think about re the Current News and their opinions!

My son told me that his son's teacher (white) told him (grandson) that it's okay to expect this and that, and it's okay to treat another child (white) bad (hitting) because of the racial inconsistencies. My grandson and this child were fighting over a toy that the other child had brought for show and tell, the teacher also told other child to give it up "because x deserves it, because of slavery". My son was ballistic when grandson came home with said toy and told him- grandson thought it was wonderful that he was going to be entitled to such behavior. My son called said teacher and had a meeting, went like this: teacher-"your people have been oppressed, I'm just trying to even out-", son stopped her in her tracks and said "no lady, that kids parents worked hard and bought that toy! If I want my son to have said toy I'll buy it for him! It's people like you keeping racism alive and people divided!" among a few other choice words. He said teacher was crying, principal just sat there with his jaw on the floor. My son also made sure to let them know that if ever such occurrence happened again, he would talk to a lawyer- I told him if it happened, take it to the news! My son said the other child's family was furious as well, but had basically been told to suck it up. Yes, these things really do happen, and it doesn't make racial relations better. No it's not curriculum, but it did happen in school, and would have set a tone if my son hadn't called the teacher out.
As far as curriculum, 1st grade this year. After the kindergarten event, I'm sure my kids will be watching, and reading class materials, and listening to their kids comments regarding school. Every parent should, regardless of their race, social class, etc. Not just for the CRT reason, but to know what ideas are being formed in our children's minds and to help guide them through these tough times

What you’re describing is not CRT. Sounds more like a kind of “beginner’s syndrome”. It’s not like white folks in America have been encouraged to actually think about racism. I’ve noticed that, over the years, people who are just beginning to grapple with uncomfortable or frightening realities can wander down some really bizarre intellectual alleys. You wouldn’t believe some of the craziness I heard back in the 70’s.

Are you really claiming that CRT is the reason for the Uvalde murders? Are you serious?
Ahh - I see … Ron Johnson said something on Fox. Why am I not surprised?

I did say "not curriculum, but happened at school" just to demonstrate some lame brain ideas that are out there that are just as bad as racism, and actually it is racism if taught to think a certain way about someone based on race. My sons are watching to make sure that things that some are saying don't materialize. If they simply teach history, fine. But hatred, nope. They "ain't having it", in their own words!
