I found it bemusing re Aramaic to Greek to German to King James and who knows how many other versions? We all know about the experiment re twelve people in a circle with a whisper to one, which by the time it reached the last person had changed somewhat considerably. Now imagine how many cultures and over seventeen hundred years, which version is accurate and why didn't God intervene to ensure that his word wasn't diluted or changed? 

It couldn't have been important enough to him? Or maybe it was his intent? 

Religion is an interesting subject!

I understand that, except I only have faith in people or things that demonstrate tangible reasons for the belief. 

You don't employ a plumber or have faith in their abilities, if he's unable to say, put in a toilet. 

I have faith in religion as an institution that managed correctly can be very beneficial to society because of the nature of most religious people is generally empathy and consideration, with a desire to help others. Except today, there appears to be a caveat of actual recruitment for future earnings. 

And there's absolutely nothing redeeming about evangelicals who voted for trump because he could push their agenda. They are IMO the primary reason that the republican party is off the rails and the country in turmoil. They are an insidious, evil institution because of their power and hypocrisy. They are suppressing women, LGBTQ and promoting anti Jewish sentiment and also fomenting the hate in our society. They started highlighting the differences in people and ramped it up! They are responsible for most of the antivaxxers and antimaskers and deaths from the pandemic! 

They are extremely judgemental and Amy Comey Barrett is a product of their manipulation with the resultant Roe v Wade debacle. She has another thirty years on the bench probably.

Maybe you can give me a different perspective. 

I see the body as simply a manufacturing system, to produce nutrients for the brain to function, giving us the sentience to negotiate our world optimally, to facilitate the reproductive processes to carry on our genetic pool. 

Everything serves that purpose of genetic continuance. Social, political, philosophical structures etc. 

And it's because I see the finite nature of existence with no heaven or hell which is a human construct IMO, I value life, enormously!

I value all of the systems invented to make life better, easier for everyone and I absolutely detest the people that only engage in selfishness and manipulation as if they are more valuable or important! 

When people are reduced to genes, no one is more important than another. Everyone contributes! All of the bad stuff goes away! 

How do you see things differently?

We are spiritual beings occupying temporary meat suits. When the meat suits die we return to a spiritual world. 

Some of us are more inclined to be kind and compassionate and cooperative and some of us are not. Religion is a way to order life in a way that values things like life, love, kindness, self control. I'm not terribly religious.

Now that is a philosophy that I can subscribe to except for the Jesus aspect. Except for the spiritual beings. I don't understand how that fits into a biological niche. It also means that we are differentiated from animals when on a genetic level we are just slightly different from each other. Our physical and chemical processes are almost identical. 

Whether Jesus existed or not, his teachings make a lot of sense. It's when his followers put him on a pedestal like Mohammed or the others and then hold it over the rest of us so that they can judge us, then I have a problem. I have a big problem with Abrahamic religions because of their discrimination practices. 

I know it's an extension of biology because all organisms are in conflict as evolution intended. But you can combine the bee system with our own and still possess individualism for expression and fulfill evolutionary needs. 

I like the European socialized systems that combines capitalism, but have coalition govts, which when functioning well, is the best system so far. It allows for more equality and freedoms.

I don't agree.  I believe that animals have consciousness and awareness.

That's my point. We are all obeying the same frantic desire to procreate to express our genes, so how are we different? Therefore all our paths will be the same no matter how esoteric humans contrive to sooth their insecurities. 

I think religion and spirituality sets out to create a distinction so we could have 'dominion' over them. That leads to dominion over each other in so many other ways. Racially, ageism, size, looks, wealth, location, etc etc.

Not you.

But religion and some politics seek to always engineer differences between people etc for profit or power almost as if they are totally stupid or ignorant to the fact that once acquired, you have to fight to keep it. It then preoccupies you to the point of not being able to pursue what really matters. 

We have finite lives and comprehension of the world we live in is the only way to actually achieve happiness. Manipulating the world through understanding of its systems, to achieve a desired goal, is real control and the only way to actually acquire happiness and minimize stress and anxiety.

Merrick Garland is useless!

Why isn't Steve Bannon arrested and in jail right now? 

Recently said that he was creating factions of ready made groups to step right into govt administration after they win in 2022. 

We all know about his part in the Insurrection, can you imagine the people he's recruiting? 

Why isn't Garland all over this fomenting of a potential civil war scenario? Is this not sedition type behaviors?
