What are your summer plans while waiting for nursing school to start....

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I was just wondering what everyone's plan for the summer while waiting to start nursing school?

Vacation?

Summer classes?

Relaxing at home?

Anything else?

I already took my summer classes.(Microbiology and Ethics) For the rest of the summer, I plan to resume my Spanish lesson. I am using Rosetta Stone (got it for free), Livemocha.com and 123teachme.com. I am also going to purchase a dosage calculations book from amazon and get a head start on that.

I might take a small road trip in Aug around my birthday.

What about you?

Nursing school doesn't start until Sept. 27, so I have three months. July is busy with vacation and camping with family. August will be filled with swimming lessons for my kids and getting them ready for school. September I am hoping to cook and freeze as many meals as possible to get me through fall quarter. As soon as I have orientation next month, I will start ordering my books and "browsing" through them. Three months may seem like a long time, but I know it will go fast!

I've reviewed dosage calculations, fundamentals, and health assessment to get a head start on things. Now I'm just waiting to do my background check immunizations etc. Orientation isn't until August. I plan to go hiking in Yosemite since I live really close to it. Then off to the beach next month. So I'm just taking it one day @ a time and relaxing until the program starts in August.

I will actually be a Junior in our program in August and I am spending the summer reading. I am reviewing everything we have covered for the past two years. Not going in to much detail, but glancing over things and if I can't explain it to myself, then I review it further. I want to feel a little more prepared for the upcoming semester. That being said, I'm also taking a lot of time to do the things I miss out on during the school year. Spending far more time with my lonely yet very supportive fiance, catching up with friends, fishing, and just relaxing!! Hope everyone has a great summer!!

Sorry, Stephalump, not everyone is a Vegas person. ;) My hubby and I don't like it at all. Too many people, too hot, then too cold, and I'm just not into it all.

As far as my summer goes, I'm taking 4 classes, but I get to end them 2 weeks early to go to Europe. I will only be there for 2 weeks, but we will be going without child for the first time since he was born almost 13 years ago. We are super excited and know that this will probably be the last time we get any real time together for the next 2 years.

I'm also filling up my time with my son's baseball games, lots of family bike rides, etc......

Ah, I guess there's not much you can do about there being too many people! Except hide in your hotel room :)

I don't think I've ever been in any extreme weather, probably because I only seen to go in April asks May, now that I think about it. I'm also coming from super hot, humid weather, so even super hot, dry weather is a nice change for us!

I will be relaxing a little, a cruise, securing WIA funds, and studying dosage calculations like crazy!

I love BTVS! :)

Knitting/crocheting myself a few Fall pieces to add to my wardrobe and start getting familiar with Medical Terminology. :)

NYLALove,

I am crocheting me 2 summer tops and knitting a cardigan with big needles. Thank you; I forgot to add that to my list.

I am also trying to learn Spanish using Rosetta Stone.

I definately will do a mini shopping spree also!!
