Does anybody have any insight into the best states for nurses as far as pay, cost of living, etc?
I lived in Idaho Falls, the unpretty part of Idaho. Lots of dust and potatoes. And feets of snow in the long, cold winters.
Oh, and slightly related to original topic, the 8 hour provision was removed from the bill! So uninterrupted breaks and restrictions on mandated OT will will become law. Nurses will still be able to work OT voluntarily, but cannot be forced. And will be allowed at least 8 hours off after working 12 consecutive hours. If a ten minute break is interrupted, then the nurse will be offered another 10 minute break.

She told me that when she was a kid all ten kids got a small treat from town. She always asked for a can of sardines. That was the only fish she had tasted until attending the community college at age 18.
When she fell in love with and engaged to my Mom's brother he took her fishing. He promised her she could have all the fish she could eat. He took all us kids fishing.
After retirement they spent winters in a converted school bus camping on the Texas gulf coast. My uncle fished every day. The freezer was filled with fish. She had enough to bring back to Oklahoma and have fish frys at the church.
My user name in in honor of my beloved aunt and uncle.
What a sweet story. What a wonderful (fish) provider your uncle was to her!

Montana is gorgeous, too. Kalispell is lovely. I worked in Spokane for years, and my best friend is from Moscow Idaho. I went there for Christmas -- very pretty drive!
