What state should I move to now the Washington State legislature is trying to force me to work seven days a week? (HB 1155)

Does anybody have any insight into the best states for nurses as far as pay, cost of living, etc?

Boise is one small part of Idaho. Just like Oregon (and Washington, I imagine, depending on how close or far you are to the coast), the temps vary WIDELY depending on where you go.

Boise is in the most populated part of Idaho and close to Twin Falls and Pocatello.

I lived in southeastern Idaho, at about 5000 feet elevation, about 50 miles from Wyoming. One year the temperature did not get about zero for the month of January. You can expect snow anytime from the first of October to the end of May. In fact, snow on Memorial Day is not unusual.

The area is dry, but they use canals and flood irrigation, thus creating ideal conditions for skeeters. Natives know not to drive at dusk, because the bugs hitting the windshield will quickly obliterate your visibility.

Boise is on the other side of the state from Twin Falls and Pocatello, 2 hours and 4 hours away, respectively.

I just drove through that region, the temps are almost identical.

Maybe drive through in January? Seriously, it's cold there in the winter. I'm not sure why you feel the need to argue this. It's, like, near Canada.

Pocatello furthest east, therefore slightly colder. Of course, people there DO have heaters ya know ?

Then by all means, live there. I did and don't care to return.

I live east of the Cascades, very little difference from Southern Idaho. A friend of mine lives in Sand Point in the panhandle. Similar weather to the Eastern slope of the Cascades. Temperatures are relatively moderate.

Ok so I work full time 8 hour shift and my schedule looks like this.

I typically get every other weekend off.

so I work Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed (Thursday is my regular day off) Then I work Friday. Then Sat and Sunday off the Mon Tues Wed (Thursday off) Friday, Sat .

So one week of the pay period I work 6 days and another I work 4 days. No where near 7 days a week. Plus I am off everyday by 3:30 so cab still attend all my son's games and school events plus get a regular night's sleep every night.

Regarding scheduling, I do think it's great to offer both 8 and 12 hr shifts. That would be optimal since people are different.
