What sort of nurse do you want to be?

With all the different types of nursing out there, just wondering what people want to be.

I want to be a highly-paid, highly-in-demand nurse consultant on the production set of multi-million dollar movies.

I bought my house from a retired homicide detective who got recruited to be a consultant on a TV show and moved to California. He left behind the ghost that haunts the house (I'm guessing someone whose murder he didn't solve), hopefully he left some good TV consultant vibes too. :)

I'd really just like to win the lottery and spend the rest of my life traveling though.

Medical consultants definitely get hired, but of course since they pay for MD's, not RN's, I imagine that's why we get TV shows that show physicians doing EVERYTHING for the patient, with nary a nurse in sight ;)

I can still hold a fantasy, though, right? :)

Same here! I think the idea of supporting women through pregnancy and labor is exciting. Although I'm not even in nursing school yet so I've got plenty of opportunities ahead of me to change my mind.

I'm a hospice CNA starting LPN school in January. I plan to stay with my employer and would eventually like to be a hospice RN case manager, maybe try triage.....

I've been following the ghost thread for years:) I just wanted to hear your house ones.

As for what kind of nurse I want to be, no idea. I've been in Onc nearly 8 years and may be burning out. Smoldering. I've thought about fertility work or perinatal bereavement due to my own history but it's too raw still. NP eventually but what focus? Public health(sex ed and STIs especially) fascinates me, but could I live on it?
