Good day, 5ummer:
For me, relaxing involves learning. I just finished up an Open2Study chemistry class, on week 4 of a Coursera clinical terminology class, started week 2 of a clinical psychology for young people class, got my last syllabus for the Fall 2014 semester, charted out my entire fall schedule per https://allnurses.com/pre-nursing-student/how-get-any-846733.html, and I'm working on practicing dosage calculations for an upcoming test next week as part of the RN program starting January 2015.
Thank you.
I am soaking up the last few weeks of summer with my kids. I spent the first half of the summer taking classes and studying to retake the TEAS and now that my applications are submitted I am spending time with my babies. My youngest starts kindergarten this year so we are enjoying our time together before everyone starts school again. We spent this past weekend at the beach. I think we will spend this week floating around the pool and relaxing.
I'm also working on getting my house super organized before school so that things flow better and things are less stressful. I am also doing the coursera medical terminology course and I think I am going to pick up a dosage calculating book. and start working on that too. I'm not good at downtime lol.
I've had a bumper year for the garden, so I've been doing loads of canning, which is something that I really do enjoy. I took 2 classes this summer, and the last one ended a week and a half ago, so I am still feeling that "empty" feeling where the class used to be. This weekend I am going to go out of town to just relax a while, and orientation is next week.
I've also been spending some time shopping online for all of the little things that I need.
Stalking my email and student website waiting for books and professors to be listed so I can start planning and reviewing
syllabi. Oh and panicking because I also probably have to move during the first month of school and both my girls will be a new daycare, and it will be for the first time for my 8 month old. Otherwise just hanging with my 2 girls, make sure we go a park at least once a week and trying to go to the beach at least once more...... Oh so many emotions at once!
I've been volunteering at a health clinic M-F most of the summer. It's been a cool experience but I'm ready to get this nursing education on the road! Also, I have been spending time with my kiddos when I'm not at the clinic. Next week, I start a CNA program and I am so excited that my nursing journey is finally getting underway. Once I finish the CNA program and I am working a few months, I plan on starting my prerequisites :-)

My classes don't start until the 18th but right now I'm totally enjoying my time off before a hectic fall semester. I'm enjoying my off days by being a lazy bum. So what are y'all doing to enjoy yourselves and relax before classes start? :)
