What is the passing score for your school?

Published

My school just changed from the passing grade being a 70% to an 80%..what is the passing score for your schools?

Our passing grade (for nursing classes only) is a 77. A 76.5 rounds up; anything below that rounds down. A 91 is an A-.

For non-nursing classes that are part of the program (Pathophysiology & Theology are 2 of them, for example), grading is more standard - failing is anything below 60. You can fail a non-nursing class and continue in the program, but have to repeat that individual class.

I'm in an accel program BTW.

Because our program follows the grading policy that the rest of the University uses, ours is a 70%...and that is an average, not per test.

I have to admit, having such a low pass mark takes away my drive to study in pass/fail (lab) classes. Why bother when I can pull off a 70 by just attending class. I'm also not the only one in my class who feels this way.

I'd like to see the passing mark actually raised in my program.

77% :nono::nono: nothing lower. no rounding

Specializes in Emergency Nursing; Geriatrics.

Ours is 80% or 79.6% with rounding for the theory/lecture part. We also need to pass the skills lab exam, clinical, and a dosage calc test (3 chances to get 100%) in order to pass the class.

82% plus pass ATI

The passing score for my school is 86. Score below that and you are out of the program.

wow theyre pretty forgiving at my college, compared to what you guys are posting up. Passing rate here is 70%

You get 1 more chance when you fail the first nursing course, if you fail twice you're OUT.

The passing grade used to be 74%, now it is at 77%.

76.5 - NO ROUNDING!

The passing score for my school is 86. Score below that and you are out of the program.

Wow! I thought our 84% was high. Never heard of a standard as high as 86%. I think more than half of our class would be gone if that were the case.

75, NO ROUNDING. At all. Ever. :)
