My school required that we get a watch with a sweep second hand. The clicking can be distracting and you may find yourself counting the clicks instead of listening for the taps.

Hi

I am waiting to get into a Nursing Program. Meanwhile I am taking a First Responder Class. We are learning to take Blood Pressures. I have a question about watches.: ) . I would like to get one that I will use in Nursing School and I am not sure if it is better to have one with a "sweep" second hand or the one that you can see click away one second at a time. I was thinking it might be easier to read the BP if I wasn't distracted watching the second hand on the type that ticks one at a time. Sometimes it's like you start to count the ticks on the watch instead of the sounds of the heart.

hmm im also confused of this post you dont need a watch to use the spygmomanometer?

Two Littmann's, two BP cuffs (one a fabulous German one where the meter is attached to the bulb - easy to manage), bandage scissors - multiple pairs because I lose one, buy another, and then find the original, and multiple penlights that always stop working.

I wanted to know if anyone had a PDA that they use regularly on their job. As a 2 year student its seems like almost eveyone had one and in my BSn program hardly anyone used them and now I'm about to enter a FNP program and I was wondering if anyone owned one and what programs would you suggest if you own one. Thanks.
