What is your net take home pay every two weeks?

Published

I have read many posts regarding pay rates. However, once deductions and such have been taken out, what are you left with post tax, benefits, etc.

Can you tell me the state or province you are in also?

Thanks.

I live in Ontario Canada, gross about 1700.00 every two weeks, bring home net about 1200.00 How does that compare? I am in critical care. My deductions are about 300 for tax, 100 for other government stuff, like unemployment insurance, and then the rest is for dental, long term disability, union dues ( 50 bucks a month for union dues) etc.

Appreciate input! Thanks J.

best check ever with three OT (which pay double rate) $2950

Last year was 75K

Our diff's are 27% base on weekends, and 15% weekdays.

My position is availible, I leave for CRNA school in two months.

BTW our rival hospital just upped its hourly and is giving a $13000 sign on for a two year commitment on nights (weekend diff of 8 bucks). With experience the hourly would aproach 27 bucks. If I was staying I would have to consider them.

Nilepoc, where are you? I also am in ABQ and would like to know where all these $$ are! Have been told favorable things RE LTC pay; unfortunately this is the only favorable thing!

Best of luck in CRNA school.

P.S. I have heard much grumbling RE the huge bonuses/terms. Is this by any chance Pres you are referring to?

Suzanna,

You're right, there are several other hospitals with peds units, but like you said, they mix adults in there with the kids. I work at Children's. I'm honestly not sure about BMC; just figured they mixed peds with adults like the other Baptist hospitals. A good friend of mine left Children's to go work at Medical Center East (old East End)as a charge nurse on the peds unit. She ended up getting a crash course in OB one night when the ped census dropped low and the OB high. She ended up doing more OB care than pediatric. She's back at Children's. I dunno about Cooper Green cleaning up their act. Still has a pretty poor rep, but I imagine their client population highly contributes to that. They DO pay the highest in the city. I did clinicals there back in '94 and it was like something you'd have imagined back in Florence N's time. Everything was totally manual, no computerization, no IV pumps, limited supplies and the patients were the most critical I'd ever seen. The staff's attitudes were as bad as the hospital's physical attitude. Hated it, period. There was talk within the past year of it closing d/t funding cuts and other financial problems. It'd really be a great loss for the poor and uninsured. Come on back to b'ham..there's plenty of peds positions at Children's!

Kewl,

That noc diff is hideous!!! Our noc diff is $3.75 and eve is $2.75. Seriously, what's keeping you in that area that's so endearing to your heart?? Come on down, the weather's nice (gets a little muggy in mid summer), and the cost of living is bound to be lower than there!!

Stuck here cuz wife, and therefore kids, won't move. Had a major blowout argument about it just last night.

Long term care RN, work 8 hrs night on Fri, and 12 hrs night on Sat and Sun. Bring home around $1000/ 2 weeks. have $200 out for insurance and every tax imaginable out. This facility also has pay in leiu of benefits. If you don't want ins, vacation pay, etc, then they add 15% to your base pay. In this area there are places that pay a little more and places that pay a little less. As you have all said we are all underpaid for knowledge, and responsibility we have.

I'm sorry kewl, I know that must be tough. I'm living about 15 miles from the town where I grew up. Although everything's generally the same, I hate it here because I'm not there. Hubby loves it here cuz it's the house his deceased mom so dearly loved. I try not to let him know it's the house his dear wife so deeply hates. I hope everything works out for you!! ((((kewl)))

1400 every 2 weeks, I am an RN working in a nursing facility as a QI Nurse/Nurse Manager. I have been a nurse for 18 years.

Believe me - you pay stagnates the longer you've been a nurse and the longer you've been out of the hospital.

Wage stagnation coupled with not retirement fund like police officers and fire fighters are two additional reason to not become a nurse.

Corporate non-hospital position x 2 years: take-home pay is about $1250 q2weeks after taxes, medical, parking, and my 13% contribution to my 401(k) are all deducted. No raise or Christmas bonus this past year post-Sept. 11--holding out good thoughts for next year!
