When i heard "obeys commands" i think of my dogs' obediance training class.
exactly! It harkens back to the era when the doctors and nurses dominated the patient and their family

hahahaha
for the most part, I like all of the medical terms for gross things. I can talk about them more easily. I definitely don't like the word mucous though. so so gross to me. I wish I could call it something else?

Exacerbation...I hate that word.
I don't mind being called fat. "Obese" sounds morbid. I yam what I yam although 46 pounds lighter...I'm now less fat or as a doctor put it "mildly obese".
"Harvesting" organs. I cringe every time I hear that.
I totally agree. I picture a Kevorkian like grim reaper going into a room full of brain dead people to harvest their livers for rich rock stars, for a hefty price of course. "Organ Procurement" also sounds suspect.

Someone have another suggestion for a better term besides 'harvesting' or 'procurement?'
How about "selective collection"?
Or, copy the automotive industry & use the term, "previously owned"?

Agreed. It always makes me think of something off of the sci-fi channel.
Maybe call it "recovery of health charity"? or something like that. "recovery of organ charity"
