Yesterday, I took care of this lady and she has been on my assignment a few times before. When I was about to transfer her back to bed she look at me and said this in a nice tone "Your face are soul". I just want to know what does that mean. TY!!

Oops, I make a typo when typing. The patient statement was "Your face is soul". So does anyone know what does it mean? Just wondering about this comment.

I don't really know what that means, but I guess if she said it in a nice tone...then she must have been saying something nice!! During my clinical time I had residents say all kinds of things to me from your so nice to telling me their dad is on the way to visit (this lady was about 92 so I'm positive her dad was no longer living.) They will tell you your pretty and one lady told my partner in clinical that she had terrible teeth (she doesn't) so I think if it was said in a nice tone then just smile as a response. It can be funny sometimes!!

I once had an old gal who talked under her breath to herself all the time.

I was giving her a bath and I hear her talking to herself about this that and the other crazy thing, then she looks at me and I hear her say, "that girl has ugly eyebrows".

lol

I'm sure I did, as it was years and years ago when us younger girls were penciling our eyebrows in really dark (think old Madonna or Taylor Dayne :uhoh21:).

My ex-husband worked in the same facility.

One patient told him, "you are so shim!".

What the heck did that mean?

Hahaha

One time I was trying to get a lil' ol lady back in bed. She was in the middle bed and a nurse was in the furthest bed while a moniter tech was in the closest bed putting leads on. She finally sat down and asked me why there was so many children in the room.

I told her that, that was a good question and that once she stays in bed I will shoo them out of the room

She turns to me and says, that would be wonderful! Now I can sleep

Oh, yes. I once had a patient who requested to be called The Sheriff, and once he took me aside and said... "You can't charge for your services, but you can accept gratuities!" I think he had me confused for a cocktail waitress he said he "dated" when he was a soldier during Vietnam. That was an awkward moment.

If an elderly resident said to me "your face are soul", I would suspect a UTI lol.

Your face is a window to your good soul. They know you are good to the very depths of your soul.
