When I have to go to a nursing home, I don't think I'll be a pleasantly confused LOL. I would be the one who tries to sneak cats into the facility.
And--since the information about how to turn off a door alarm is now lodged in a part of my brain that dementia would take time to erase, I'll be the facilities escape artist.
How about it---what kind of LTC resident will you be in the future?
We allow alcohol where I work. As long as the family and MD okay's it.
I'll be a resident of your place, first off. I'll most likely be a sun-downer who is somewhat non-compliant. Hopefully I won't have a roommate because I'll definately be unhappy if I do. They'd better not try to keep me on some sort of boot-camp schedule!:angryfire
I will be one of those residents who is happy all the time. It doesn't matter, I will be grateful for the care I get. I will love my roommate and will really look forward to every meal and snack.I loved dorm life when I was a college student, so I know that I will think I am back in school, looking for the kegger .....hehehe
The kegger will be down the hall, in my friends room, and I'm posting one of the cats I snuck in as a lookout to warn us when the staff comes.:paw::biere:
Amen to that! At this point, all I want to do is eat and watch TV.
I will be the one that says the hell w/ the special diet... bring me pizza and chocolate or I ain't eatin. I will be the one that punches someone who thinks I outta get OOB at 6am (to do what?!? - eat the same ole eggs ya served me yesterday!!) I should just write my own careplan for non-compliance now. Maybe at least the future MDS coordinator would love me

The one that has as a dr's order, "never wake resident up before 1pm. Breakfast served at 2p, lunch at 7p, and dinner at midnight. If resident's mother calls, tell her she's dead. No one is to speak or bother resident in any way on Sunday or Monday nights during football season. This is to include pre and post season games. If the Colts are to lose expect resident to be crying, cussing and generally in a foul mood."
I have this intense fear that my mother will out live me and constantly bug me, asking me if I've eaten, if I made my bed, if I paid rent.
