What should I wear to pick up paperwork on my day off?

I’m going to my manager’s office on my day off to pick up some paperwork. It’s not a meeting or anything, I’m just picking up the papers and leaving. What should I wear? Should I put scrubs on? Or just wear my casual everyday clothes (jeans, shirt, flip flops)?

Business casual. You are entering your place of employment. If you wear scrubs, they may put you to work.

This I don’t know what your work is like but some places might try that old “hey your dressed to work want to make some money since your here?”

I just dress like I normally do when I’m off I do not make changes in my attire just because I’m swinging by work but of course my clothes are “work safe” anyway regardless of my days goals.

If your the type that has to wear clothing with swearing or something offensive (sad there are adults who don’t understand this) then reconsider your clothes. I love flip flops sad the time of year for them is coming to a close soon

Neat and tidy. Not scrubs. I wore jeans in all the time, but not grungy ones. Look put together but not ready to be put to work.

Policies only apply to time when you are getting paid. Few employers are going to pay you for the few minutes it takes to run in and pick up paperwork. They cannot dictate what you do when you aren't there representing the company.

That is not correct. The powers that be can most certainly dictate what you wear into the facility. It is written into the employment agreement.

Not only that, but people should have a little pride in their appearance. I'm actually surprised that this is even a big question. But...we now live in a world in which people go to restaurants wearing muscle shirts and flip-flops and I've seen people in public places wearing yoga pants tight enough to count their freckles...

Slacks and nice but casual sweater or top NOT scrubs, as has already been said here: I did that once and found myself agreeing to "work since you're already here and we need the help" even though I didn't really want to!  Weak on my part, most definitely!  Though I have also been told, when wearing "street" clothes..."we can send down to OR and get you a set of scrubs..."!
