Hi everyone,I'm starting an ADN program in January and was wondering what I'll need other than my assigned books. (probably a slightly stupid question but...) I plan on getting a stethoscope and I have RN notes becuase i read they are really helpfull. I also have a medical dictionary from my prereqs.
So, what else do you suggest I get?
Thanks.
Just wondering if you are nervous?? I have to admit that I am. I also start in January and this is something that I have been looking so forward to but I fear failure. What state are you in? How many quarters?
Stethescope, blood pressure cuff, pen, folder, name tag, school uniform (ours is white pants and shirt with school patch and white shoes), Lab Coat, a good Nursing Drug Guide, a good Medical Dictionary, a good care plan book (not completely necessary but helps out a ton), and white/beige underwear for underneath your see-through white pants. :imbar
I bring everything but the books and the pack of underwear to each clinical session.
For lecture you'll pretty much just need a LOT of time, a couple of spiral notebooks, a HUGE folder to hold all of the handouts you'll get (I use one of those plastic accordion file things), and some of your favorite pens that don't make your hand cramp up.
Good luck!

Clogs don't alway meet workplace safety regulations. Open heel leave your heels exposed and if injured in that area, WCB can turn down claims due to unsafe footwear.Penlight, dressing scissors, badge holder, support hose (yes even under scrub type uniforms).
I have the closed-back style that is made for the workplace (nurses, chefs, etc.)...
